It has been just a month since my exchange-student life started in Thailand. Since the day I got here, I started writing what I feel different from my home country Japan. So today, I would like to blog about  20 things that I have been feeling different from Japan and things that I realized very âThaiâ. I actually have more than 20 things that make me surprised, so this blog is a part 1. I will blog another half next week! So please enjoy wowing the differences between Japan and Thailand.
1. Thai people are so nice to kids, women and elder people. We also have policy to be kind to kids, women and elder people in Japan, but sometimes Japanese people are not kind to them, especially on the trains. When I took a BTS train, I saw a young woman asking a lady to sit the seat right after the young woman saw the lady came getting on the train. That was very nice.
2. Thai people bow a lot with their hand putting together.
3.And you receive the bow. We also have the habit to bow in Japan, but we donât receive it.
4. People smile back if I smile to them. Thailand is called as a âsmile countryâ, right?
5. Thai girls are extremely thin. My friend told me that Thai boys like thin girlsâŚbut they are too thin! Let them get fatter!lol
6. Thai people really love products imported from foreign countries. So many fake productsâŚlol
7ďźIt costs a lot if you eat Japanese food here.
8ďźThai time. I am very surprised that there is not time schedule for trains or vans⌠They leave when they wanna leave, do not they?lol You never be late in Japan! Japanese people are so strict with time.
9ďźThere are few people who are Christian.
10ďźPeople here have very colorful parasol sunshades. Japanese people have black ones. Black only.
11ďźMotherâs day is officially public holiday. It is not in Japan.
12ďźPeople drink with straws. We do not do that if we drink something in a bottle.
13ďźGuys who go to military are selected randomly. It is so sad if the boy does not want to joinâŚ
14ďźPeople keep asking me that Japanese people eat sushi every single day. Well, hell no. lol Â
15ďźThere is no âboyishâ girl in Thailand. I am sorry if this sounds little rude, but it is very common and very popular to have very short hair among Japanese girls, so I was little shocked to hear that people here consider girls with short hair as lesbiansâŚ
16ďźYou can not post any photos of alcohol. Isnât it new law in Thailand?
17. People here can get driver license very easily. You must go to driving school to have lectures and classes about traffic rules in Japan. In addition, It takes you at least a month to graduate from the school.
18ďźWild dogs are not actually âwild dogsâ I did not know they are owned by someone.
19ďźYou drive on the left side, but you walk right side when you are at stairs. In japan, which side you walk when you are at stairs depends on the area. For example, You got to walk left side in Tokyo. On the other hand, you have to walk right side in Osaka.
20. Thailand technically have 4 seasons?â¨My friend told me there are definitely 4 seasons in ThailandâŚreally? lolâ¨She also told me that you have only one day that you feel cold.
If you found that I have misunderstanding or wrong information, please comment on my blog and let me know! Thanks so much for reading!
Interesting. Who owns the dogs though? :o
