"Haah... haah..." Kurami clutches her chest and looks at Xiaoyu as she assessed the damage on her body. No broken bones, thankfully. Her skirt was torn a bit and her veil were on the ground, but ultimately no real damage was dealt.

"I- I'm fine! Mostly!" The purplette piped. "They really put up a fight!" She exclaims, half angry, half exhausted. The ball of distortion hovering above her right shoulder vanishes. She falls to her knees and coughs a few times.

The only thing that kept her going throughout all that was several promoted Kings and a Bishop. It was too close quarters to sacrifice a piece for Queen, and a Pawn's secondary move would only make things harder for her and her ally. Those were her only options...

She felt trapped, even mentally, and all it took was a few street thugs and a lack of coordination...

She curses herself. Purple eyes quiver with resentment. Rage. Next time, she'll—

...

Kurami grabs her veil, brings herself to her feet, blinks twice and looks at Xiaoyu again.

"Y- yeah. I hope we don't have any more run-ins with them. Haha!" She smiles, then looks over Xiaoyu. "What's your name?" She asks.

She kicks herself, too. Never has she had to fight hand-to-hand. She excelled in mental games, NOT physical combat!

"I- I said I'm fine!" She clenches a fist and looks at Xiaoyu. "I- I can stand and walk. I'm a little winded, that's all." Another distortion appears over her shoulder. The bruises vanish, her ribs and cheekbones mend themselves. Even her skirt restitches as if nothing happened. Kurami shakes her head, hair flying every which way. But even after that, some pain remains.

"I'm not used to fighting like that. Hand-to-hand combat wasn't something I thought I had to do. Anyway! It's nice to meet you too. You can call me Kurami." She unclenchee her right hand and extends it. As she waits for Xiao to hopefully take her hand, the radial distortion caused by Kurami's King piece fades once its job was finished.

"I could go for some ice cream right now, though..." she murmurs, almost shy.
