DO I DREAM AGAIN?

     there’s been a question lurking on his tongue for  days  now .        at  first,    his  plan  was  to  ask  it  as  fast  as  possible  so  that  ophelia  wouldn't  be  able  to  hear  it  properly,   but  hiro    (  with  his  big  brain  and  all,  )    had  pointed  out  that  such  an  endeavor  would  only  end  with  him  having  to  ask  twice.       then,   to  make  matters  worse,   all  of  his  other  friends  had  only  said  the  same  thing   :    you  just  gotta  get  it  over  with  like  you  would  ripping  off  a  band  aid.       if  fred  wasn't  the  one  in  this  situation,   he  likely  would  have  given  the    SAME     nugget  of  advice,    but  being  on  the  other  side  of  things  is  always  worse.    and  now  oph  is  here,   and  the  banquet  he's  supposed  to  have  a  date  for  is  only  a  day  away,   and  he's  hopelessly  squandered   most   of  his  precious  time.        what  does  this  mean  ?        well  that  he's  gonna  have  to   WING  IT,   obviously.

   ❛   we  should  play  twenty  questions  —   ❜      he  says,    suddenly  tossing  his  comic  book  to  the  side  as  she  bites  into  a  slice  of  pizza.       fred  continues  on  with  what  can  only  be  described  as  nervous  swagger.        ❛   here,   i'll  ask  first.         how  do  you  feel  about    DRESSES  ?        particularly  long,   ballgown  ones    -    y'know,   like  the  ones  girls  wear  to  prom  ?   ❜

        ❛ wait, what? ❜ ophelia’s not blind. fred’s been acting so weird for the last few days, and honestly, she was like, a day away from just asking him what’s on his mind herself. now that he’s told her, though ( or at least she’s assuming this is it, judging by the nervous energy practically exploding off of him ), she’s even more confused. dresses — especially prom dresses, considering both of them are quite a few years out of high school at this point — are probably the very last thing she expected fred to ask her about, and she can’t help the confused expression that slips across her face. like, this is weird, right? she’s not being weird about it, this is a weird thing for him to ask her about, right? eyebrows furrowed, she turns to face fred fully, the hand holding her pizza slice stretching across the couch to drop it back onto the cardboard of the pizza box.

     “Alright!”   He sounds much more excited than he probably should,  lugging in a considerably large box of big,  heavy books into his office.     “I have about two more of these,”   Emmett says,  gesturing to the crate,   “And a few more boxes of — other stuff.”     Folders,  binders,  trinkets,  office supplies,  photos,  supplies for the break room.   You name it,  much of it is sitting either in the doorway in small, compact cardboard boxes,  or in the back seat of his car.     “Pepper’s going to swing by with coffee in an hour — make sure you text me your order — and I think all the furniture has already been brought in,  so we’re good on that regard …   Alright!   So,  you can get started on fitting these giants in the bookcase — be super careful with the volume numbers,  I’m not entirely sure Pep took them out in any specific order — and I’ll start setting up the computer.   Sound good?”           /           @mysteryprone

     “So ,”     words are spoken in an almost leisurely manner ,   and the smile on Scott’s face would lead you to believe that he wasn’t about to spew some smart - ass comment .     But as always ,   win all matters pertaining to Ant - Man ,   you’re never going to receive just what you expect .     “If Ant - Man wanted a social media admin …   admin ?    Manager !   Same thing .     If Ant - Man wanted a social media manager — how into that would you be ?     Considering I think you’ve had the most interaction with my Twitter as is .”     How serious is he being with this ?          /           @mysteryprone​
