Emotionally I think I really need it to be autumn

the end credits of Brand New Day got me thinking about how this film would have been the perfect opportunity for the mcu to introduce photography for tom holland’s peter parker. we find him in a period of time where he’s observing life rather than participating in it and i just think in the depths of his loneliness, he could have found photography. he loves his city but alienates himself from it - he is invisible to everyone. having him hide, even when he’s peter parker, behind a camera rather than a mask, could have further emphasised his isolation. give me a homemade darkroom, give me a series of candids of just people being happy that reek of envy, give me the angles of new york that only he gets to see. those end credit photographs could have been his.

"these researchers published a paper on something that literally any of us could have told you 🙄" ok well my supervisors wont let me write something in my thesis unless I can back it up with a citation so maybe it's a good thing that they're amplifying your voice to the scientific community in a way that prevents people from writing off your experiences as annecdotal evidence

they did the research in the first place because they believed you and wanted to tell people about it. they are not our enemies.

I'm always seeing this sentiment of "I have got to make my art weirder" or people begging for weirder art but here's the thing, Weird is not a brand. You cannot rack your brains trying to figure out the "Weird" formula. You don't get weird art by artificially forcing whatever you think is "weird." You get weird art (and I think "weird" is sometimes people groping for a way of saying non-corporatized) by figuring out what you like, deep down, even (especially) if you think it's embarrassing and wallowing in it like a pig
