One of the worst things about deciding to read a comic run is when you get up to the point there's an event and you have to decide if you're going to hunt down the reading list for it and read a bunch of unrelated issues from other character's runs in case they're relevant to the plot or if you're just going to read the next chapter and hope no-one important to the run you're reading died.
