The NICU journey is so hard, but Mikaela is in GREAT hands. God bless the NICU Doctors, Nurses, staff & families. First Poopy Diaper..
Had so much fun hanging out with my baby girl today. 💖 I even had the HONOR of changing her 1st EVER poopy diaper. I know that sounds super odd, but it was amazing. Her nurse said it was the biggest poopy diaper she’s seen for a preemie that size. 😂 So gross but SO AMAZING! Her grandparents are SO PROUD! Her nurse also said that she will be moving up a diaper size any day now!! I wasn’t suppose to have this moment, but I DID! 💖 God is amazing!

My feisty little girl, you are more than we ever expected and better than we ever imagined. 💖 Finally got to see my baby’s full face for the first time and I fell in love all over again. Mikaela opened her perfect little eyes when I went to visit her today. She recognized my voice and I just burst into happy tears. The nurses said they have never heard or seen anything like her case. She is a real miracle. She is my little fighter, my hero & my inspiration. When she was born instead being greeted by my arms she went directly into fight mode, literally fighting for her life. What an honor to call her my daughter. This still feels like a dream. Thank you for your prayers, keep them coming! 💖

My BABY!
Finally got the chance to meet my beautiful baby girl Mikaela!! 💖 I am so in love with her. God had a plan for her, and wow. She is beautiful!! She was born at 8:22pm weighing 1lb 9oz!! She’s tiny but mighty! She was able to breath on her own, let out a little cry and is on low oxygen. Nurses said she’s a little feisty & that alone makes me so happy. Please continue to keep her in your prayers! Our pprom journey is over, but our NICU journey has begun. I’m doing good, recovering, taking it slow. Amazed with my body, honestly wow. I am so thankful and grateful that I didn’t give up on her. Where there’s a heartbeat there is hope!! 💖

Day 3 at Sharp Mary Birch. Enjoying my room & that machine is my new bff. 😂 Getting Heparin to avoid blood clots due to bed rest OUCH is what I have to say to those! Only for like 30 seconds but still! 😂 Baby aspirin for the same thing, a mix of antibiotics every 4 hours to prevent infection & over the past 2 days steroid shots that I don’t have to do again for a while. Yay! Tying to keep this little girl cooking as long as possible. I’m doing the best I can, mentally, I’ve always been a happy person, but this breaks me sometimes. Emotionally I am a wreck sometimes too, but that’s okay. We have made it this far and that alone is a huge accomplishment. Our main concern is her lung development. Since she’s had low fluid since my rupture at 13+5 weeks. Gotta keep the faith & continue to pray. God has a plan for us. 💕 where there’s a heartbeat, there is hope. 💖 I miss my amazing husband daily, but so blessed he gets to visit me everyday, even during a pandemic. Missing my family too, but so happy I get to FaceTime them. Really thankful for technology. Just wanted to say thank you to all of you keeping Mikaela & our family in your prayers. 💕 We love you all so much.
OH ALSO I TESTED FOR COVID! I’m negative, so that was cool! 👏🏼

Update! Officially 24+1!
It was a busy busy week from 22 weeks to 23 weeks! Not to mention leading up to hitting 24 weeks.
I went to my specialty OB on Thursday so we could set up my check in for the hospital.
Well we made it!
Our main concern is still her lungs, the second concern is my vertical c-section. The truth is we only know whats going to happen once it actually happens.
The nurses and hospital staff have been amazing. Honestly they have been taking such great care of us. I have been here for 24 hours now!
We had to talk about the bad yesterday, that wasn't fun. But it was necessary. I will admit I got VERY VERY emotional. Its normal. How else do you respond to news that there is a possibility you baby wont make it. He plan if she doesn't make it set up, just to be safe. I still have faith in her.
They have put me on Baby Aspirin, Heparin (blood thinner), & have given me BOTH of doses of steroids for baby’s lung development. OH and I also get ampicillin, basically a Zpack to kill any infection. Its every 4 hours, 2x a day with some pills that go with it. Below are picture of the medical side affect card and what they do.

Virtual Mermaid Theme Baby Shower!
Over the weekend I was blessed to have the cutest virtual mermaid themed baby shower. I leave to the hospital this weekend due to my pProm. I should be there anywhere from 4-10 weeks! Thats why we had it early. Just wanted to share pictures with you! We invited our friends & family via Facebook Events, there is a "Host Online" option and there I posted my registry links to Amazon & Target. It was so much fun! It basically creates an event & messenger room for you. I ordered Pizza Port for the ones that were at my house, like my mom, MIL, husband, and one of my besties. This the schedule we went off of!

We ordered the backdrop on Amazon, Balloon Kit on Amazon, my mom got the table covers at Target & she made Ocean Water. It was honestly so much fun! I even got calls later that day from family members and was able to chat with them for a while.

Ocean Water Drink
My mom is super creative and she saw a recipe for OCEAN WATER.. YUP! So she decided she’s going to make some for the shower. She shared the recipe with everyone in the Facebook group so they can make it if they want.

Virtual Baby Shower!
My mom decided to throw me a virtual Baby Shower this weekend! I am so excited! Its kind of like a good bye kind of thing too. Since I am officially 22 weeks on Friday.. I only have 1 week till I am 23 weeks!!! Meaning we are VIABLE!!
This is the cute list we used to get it ready. We also decided to do it on Facebook as an online event so all our family that live out of state can join. My mom asked me what theme I wanted and of course I said mermaid!
