It was the first time that the youngest Warren daughter was allowed to stay alone at home. Her parents Ed and Lorraine Warren had a new case. Her sister Judy was already in college and her grandma had no time since she had been sick for some time. So the 14-year-old was allowed to stay alone at home. Of course not without getting rules.
"I know the rules. Nobody is allowed in the house you don't know. No boys and nobody enters the room. I know," she said before her parents could say something. "I close all the doors and don't open anyone. I'm not a baby anymore. I can handle myself for a few days." She added before she sighed. "Trusted me."
She knew that there would be a little more than just these rules and, above all, the subject of boys would deepen her father. However, she tried to dodge exactly that. By that, too, I mean Bob, Grace. I don't want him here in the house if we're not there," her father said, however, she was already on her way out there. Of course, she also knew how to regulate them.
After saying goodbye to her parents, she closed the front door again and tried to finish her homework, but she had little desire. It was Friday, which means before Sunday evening, she doesn't have to finish anything.
*Before @edwarrenadventures and their mother Lorraine had left for their case, Dad had called Judy to let her know what was going on.* Dad, I think Grace will be fine. Sure, leave Mom's car here if you feel safer. I can be home in 2 and a half hours if it's an emergency. Let me talk to Gracie.
*She waited for a few minutes and her little sister was on the phone. It was her job to protect her, but she had class. They trusted her. So would Judy.* Hey Gracie. First time alone? I'm a phone call away. Mom and Dad are dropping off her car because I am closer than they will be during their case.
Remember what they said. Don't go into that room. I'm telling you this for your own good. Seriously... if the door opens on its own, don't go in. *Her voice shaky.* Go to the neighbors and call me. Do you hear me? And if you see Annabelle anywhere in the house, don't touch her. Leave and call me.
âMama, I can be alone for three days. I can see that youâre worried but trust me nothing will happen.â She said before she looks at her mother and sighed. Lorraine didnât even needed to say something, Grace saw it in her eyes. âIf anything is happening Iâll just leave the house and go to Mrs.Miller.â She said and look at her Father who was on the phone. Even he had this look which makes her even more sad.
After her Father gave her the phone she rolled her eyes after his comment about Bob. âHey Judy. How is College? You think I could just come and stay there till our Parents are accepting the fact that I am a teenager.â She said and listend to her sister. âPlease not you too. I can handle a few days.â She added before she kept listening to her.
âI am not planning on going into that room. But yes I promise Iâll leave and call you.â She said before she raised her eyebrow. âWait, what do you mean seeing Annabelle here. She canât come out right? She canât come out when no one opened itâ she added before she gets nervous. âJudy, she canât right.â
*Judy remembered the time when Nana was babysitting, and she had woken up. The door was open, Annabelle was missing, and some woman was brushing her hair in the other room. Gracie was too young to understand about what was going on. The only thing she knew was NEVER EVER go in the room and DON'T touch anything.
The next time they thought Judy could stay home as long as Mary Ellen came over to babysit. Gracie went to Nana's. Then Daniela came over and found the keys to the room and let Annabelle out. God she hated that doll. If God was so benevolent why would he let demons exist?
Judy rubbed her neck at the question and sighed.* We've told you all about demons and how they attach themselves to objects. Well, Annabelle is the worst of them all in that room. Just be careful and watch out. *She wasn't trying to scare her, but the sound of her voice told Judy Gracie was. Suddenly @edwarrenadventures was back on the phone.* Dad, I just warned her about Annabelle. That's all.
Ed had anticipated something to happen the frost night Gracie had stayed home alone. Just like Judy, they learn at a young age that you do not go in their their room. Annabelle, being the most dangerous of all. They would get a priest to come bless the room, Annabelle especially every so often.
Keeping her under glass and key, was the safest bet. Calling again, like the worried father Ed was, he waited for someone to pick up. âIs everything okay? How is Gracie?â He asked, sitting at the desk in the motel he and Lorraine were staying at.
*"Judy, it's your dad... again." They all knew who helped save them from Mary but it still was strange for them to understand her parents were demonologists. No one truly understood about it.*
Yeah, Dad? Is everything alright? She was actually concerned.* Has she called you? She hasn't called me. I told her if anything happens, to leave and call me. So, Annabelle obviously hasn't gotten out. So Gracie should be o.k.
Grace didnât knew what was going on, she didnât felt save. She felt that someone or something were looking at her so she walked towards the front door and locked them before she wanted to walk into her room. She knew she wasnât allowed to go in there but the door were open and she thought maybe her Father forget something. She also knew that he would never forget to lock the door. After she walked into the room she looked around and saw a few new things she never saw before.
The 14 years old sighed and turned around to leave before she notice that Annabelle wasnât there which just gave her another panic attack. She runs out of the room and tried to locked it but she wasnât strong enough. She just grabs her jacket before she runs to the front door. She couldnât open it, why couldnât she just open the stupid door.
âI want to play with Annabelle...is Annabelle home?â She heard a voice saying and before she turned around she just closed her eyes and run to the phone hoping that Judy would pick up.
âPlease please pick upâ she said to herself before she heard a voice on the other side âJudy? Judy you need to come now. Something let Annabelle out and I canât open the doorsâ

*Judy had done her homework for the weekend and was relaxing on the bed when she felt something strong and very wrong happening. It was @graceritawarren. She'd leaped out of bed when the phone rang in the hall. "Judy, it's your sister and she's crying. I can't understand her." Her friend Mary Kate said. Running she picked up the swinging handle of the pay phone. So much static. But she heard Annabelle.. and doors. It was enough.
She didn't have time to call @edwarrenadventures and @clairvoyantsights. But Mom would already know. They were too far away.* On my way home! *She jumped into the car and drove home. Just as she said the doors were locked. Judy picked up a large rock and broke the sliding glass door.*
Gracie, come on! *Situation posed a problem. She could mo longer hear her sister. Cautiously she stepped in.* Gracie?
Grace didnât liked this, she didnât even know why this doll were out. She didnât let her out or even let someone she donât know in the house. She knew the rules. When she heard her sisters voice she took a deep breath but could hear this little girl again. âI want to play with Annabelleâ she heard and didnât cared about the phone anymore. She knew she needed to get out of this house.
When she noticed that all doors were locked and she couldnât open them she looked around and took another deep breath. âMom!â She knew Lorraine wasnât there but she also knew her mother always knew when something were from with Judy or her.
She walked towards her room and wanted to locked the door before she heard glass and a voice. She knew Judy was there and maybe they could find Annabelle. âJudy helpâ

It seemed when she turned her head to eye the doll, it was almost as if she was now smiling at Judy.* How did you get out of your case? *She threw her across the room.* I hate you! Leave us alone! @graceritawarren I am here. But I'm fighting with @annabelleinacase. She found me. The sliding door is broken, get out and go to the Miller's.
*It was then she felt an odd feeling coming from her father's office. That feeling was that of @myrealnameisvalek. The nun mom was petrified of. Their home was not the place to be. As it was not safe.
Valek floated down the hallway after Judy. The research her parents had done it needed a body to occupy to finally get out in the open. Annabelle wanted a soul.
Judy pulled out her cross and began praying as began backing out of the house.

âHi, dearest. What are you up to today?â
Well, trying to stay at the college dorms like you and mom said I could, even though we're so close. But I can't stay there. There is something there.
He moved and stopped what he was doing completely. Ed knew his daughter was truthful, believing her from the start. âWhat? Tell me more. When are you coming home?â
*There was no doubt he heard her sigh over the payphone near hear room. There was no one in the hall as she had called him at 10:00pm.*
Some of the girls have been testing the Bloody Mary legend. It was harmless at first. Last week a couple of girls were in the bathroom and I heard a scream. When I ran in, one of the girls had gouged her eyes out. I've felt the presence since that night. It comes to my room and wants me to come to the mirror. *The presence hovered over her whispering. Her breathing accelerated.* I'm taking the bus home tomorrow at 8. It's the first one. If I had the car I'd leave tonight.
Ed Warren learned from an early age that nearly everything existed at some point. It could an urban legend, a vengeful spirit, or just folklore. âOkay, you need to listen to me, Judy. You cannot stay there tonight. During a haunting, if the spirit senses youâre trying to leave, that will anger it. I will come and pick you up. Itâs only a three hour drive time. Is there a near by restaurant or building you can stay at in the mean time?â He had already gotten up from his chair and started grabbing a few items including his brief case.
*She already knew what her father was going to say. Yet they had always stayed the night to investigate.* Dad, you know we stay to investigate. That's what you and Mom always did while I stayed home with Nana.
*His voice was demanding for her to listen to her as he rarely did. Though her parents never yelled at her, they insisted. That's when she [knew] when it was time to listen.*
If I go somewhere else, the spirit will know I am trying to leave. She will become vengeful. But there is an all night diner. I am hungry. You know the one down the street from the main entrance of college? I'll be there. *Judy heard the hustle her father was making.* Don't tell Mom. * Granted she would know within 5 minutes.
âOkay.â He said, grabbing a few more things to bring with him. Lorraine would probably already know by the time he was off the phone. She was gifted. âSweetie, you know I canât keep this from your mother.â Ed replied as he continued moving around. âGo to the dinner, Iâll be there shortly, okay? Please be safe.â He was ready now.
I know. Mom already knows. Trust me... I know. I'm leaving now. *She hung up the phone and grabbed her bag and purse. Without saying goodbye, she began to leave. Just as she got to the lobby doors of the dorm, she saw Mary in the glass and was thrown back into the wall. A growl could be heard. "You're not leaving." Judy saw stars and shook her head.* You are not Mary... I will find out your name and cast you back to Hell.
*A few doors opened and she was released. Judy ran outside down the street to the diner to wait for her dad.*
It took Ed two and a half hours to get there. He was driving over the speed limit and was damned if anyone were to stop them. It was raining outside now, his eyes trying to focus on the road. He eventually arrived at the 24 hour diner, quickly getting out and running in. His clothes were wet and as was his hair. âJudy?â He said, eventually finding his daughter sitting by herself.
Forever.. or so it seemed like. But it wasn't. Mom and Dad knew when something was wrong like this, and she needed help they were here faster than time actually allowed. When the chair was going to hit her in the room, they sped home to break down the door to save her.
In he walked. Like her Superman. Standing up, Judy ran to her father embracing him.* Daddy. It tried to keep me from leaving. Just like I thought. *Taking her seat, her Pepsi sat before her.* I'm not sure if is Mary, Dad.
He embraced his daughterâs hug, squeezing her shoulders before letting go. Ed sat down across from her, making her to take mental notes of every detail. âItâs probably attaching itself to a smaller spirit. Maybe an entity that hasnât passed on through the plane. How long has this been going on? Is anyone else effected by this?â
*As she considered all the possibilities of what had happened, Judy thumbed her glass turning it slowly.* We did have a few girls murdered last year before term ended. I told you about that.
Is it possible it's a vengeful spirit? One of the girls in the dorm is responsible for the murders. Or maybe knows who is? *The food she had ordered when the car pulled up came to the table. "Aren't you the guy from the papers? You and your wife... yeah you're the crazy folks who believe in ghosts." Judy's eyes burned.* My parents are not crazy.
âThat can contribute to a vengeful spirit latching on. Iâm not too sure though, I would have to go check it out first. I got everything in the car waiting.â He crossed his arms over his chest, leaning back as the food arrived to their table. The server was young, Ed merely shook his head and laughed. He looked at Judy first, âItâs okay.â He replied, taking a drink of his soda. âThey call us demonologists, for the technical term.â
*Judy took a bite of her cheeseburger as her dad explained the possibility of a vengeful spirit latching on.* You mean like Annabelle?
*The apprehension in her voice as she spoke of that evil doll was evident. She not only hated that doll, she feared it and Annabelle knew it. Just like Valek knew Mom feared her. That was really the only objective she feared in that room.*
I know it's not Annabelle. She would have shown herself by now. I believe this may be.. one or more of the girls taking out their revenge. But for what?
*As he explained what he and Mom did for a living, she rolled her eyes.* It's stupid we have to explain ourselves all the time, Dad.
