Mama Caul (and some of the orphans she helps raise)

A priestess of Nurgle upon The Carbuncle station/abby/convent, Mama Caul is a deeply mutated Ogryn woman who was SO fuckin fun to draw I really love her design. She's so sweet. And so stinky. I love her big doofy tummy mouth.

The Carbuncle takes in all manner of orphans, but they particularly revere the sick, the wounded, and mutants, their mission almost one of mercy for children otherwise left behind by the horrors of war. I'm not gonna say they have a great survival rate, given that infectious diseases are encouraged and they view those lost to consumption as divine sacrifices, not lost but taken into the loving grasp of their grandfather to spend eternity in his garden

Regarding crimes with ongoing consequences, I believe the initial act would be legal, but any attendant illegal acts or related crimes that occurred later (not during a purge) would still be prosecutable.

So if, for example, you harvested someone’s kidney without their consent during a purge, that initial crime (battery, possibly also assault) would not be prosecutable. But if you then went and sold that organ either to a medical fence or to a legitimate medical provider under the false pretense that it was legitimately obtained? That would be a separate crime (organ trafficking/fraudulent inducement) and, therefore, prosecutable.

If I was advising an insurance adviser, I would recommend life insurance policies not cover death during a purge by default. That would either need to be covered by a separate policy with specific risk assessment pricing metrics or through an add-on to a standard life insurance policy.

That fraud example has me thinking though. I think if you used your access at a company to embezzle a bunch of money at once, all during a purge, you’d have a compelling argument against prosecution. But if you used the chaos of a purge to set up an ongoing scheme (e.g., office space penny rounding), your subsequent unjust enrichment would be prosecutable.
