Life's a Beach When You Live In a Desert.

1. The way they look at one another radiates this happiness that makes everyone watching feel it too. 

2. Elena didn’t want Stefan to turn away from her, because even when he was most vulnerable she found him mesmerizing & beautiful.

3. Stefan was Elena’s safety. Being held by him helped ease the pain she felt. Stefan was Elena’s comfort. 

4. From the beginning they were constantly conquering obstacles. This was their first breakup, the hurt in their eyes says enough - they didn’t want to be without each other even if it was the “right thing” to do.

5. Elena refused to give up on Stefan, she didn’t lose hope. ( When Elena turned off her humanity, Stefan never gave up on her.)
