And a humanitarian.
Behind Breakfast At Tiffany’s and sweeping romances was a woman who survived German occupation and secretly performed ballet to raise money for the Dutch resistance during WWII. After the war, Hepburn was found starving and sick. Later on in life, Hepburn was a recognized as a fashion icon, movie star, and a great beauty. Many people can only recognize her by her younger years but Ms. Hepburn lived until her 60s. In her later years, She devoted much of her time to charity and supporting others in their times of need. In the 80s and 90s, Audrey raised funds and worked with some of the poorest communities in the world, advocating for awareness of impoverishment and children’s education.
