the opening verse to now that we don't talk is soooooo peak taylor like "you went to a party, i heard from everybody" all aloof and whatever about it then "you part the crowd like the red sea, don't even get me started" just wistful and nostalgic and a little bit still breathlessly hot for them to the point where you can hear the smile in her voice, and then softness and tenderness in her voice with "did you get anxious though, on the way home?" how deeply she knows them and slides back into caring for them, coming to the sad realization that "i guess i'll never ever know" only to remember why it is the way it is between them now with a callous and snide "now that we don't talk." like yes!!!!! Go on girl dig up that grave another time! Cycle through the contradictory and maddening stages of convincing yourself to let go of someone you still love but who may have never loved you, not the way you wanted them to!! There she goes again processing that grief!!!!
