A brand new area was showcased during the Undertale 10th anniversary stream!! The background music notably has the "Faint Courage" motif playing.. Toby mentioned a little later on that all new content would be purely stream exclusive, just for chat to see.
My theory is that Rouxls is Gaster's self insert and he did all this so he could play with his OCs.

Hey everyone I think we may be overthinking the SWOON thing
Or rather, not overthinking it in the right direction. When I first saw the name for that status I immediately thought, "This seems familiar, was this a jank translation for a KO/DOWN state in an old RPG?" Almost immediately upon starting to search up Swoon Status in combination with old RPG franchise names I found a legends of localization article confirming SWOON Status was the translation used for Instant Death attacks in the SNES version of Final Fantasy 4 (the one they renamed Final Fantasy 2) specifically. (also some results that suggest it may have been in SNES FF6/ Localized as FF3 as well?)
Considering how many other UT/DR things are send ups to 90s RPGs, (the lines for Susie and Ralsei getting SWOON'd are themselves earthbound references, according to the wiki) It might be helpful for everyone's theories to consider SWOON as "an antiquated (abandoned) translation that is no longer in use", and "a thing that instantaneously destroys videogame characters with no specified immunity to it", in addition to its normal, IRL definition.
I will reblog this post with a link to the article, as I am not sure if Tumblr autohides things with links from tags or not anymore P.S. Despite the gameplay being more Zelda style, the Legend of Tenna sprites look like they were heavily inspired by NES/Early SNES Final Fantasy overworld sprites as well, if not outright traced over, but I can't for the life of me figure out which exact spritesheet maps to which delta warrior, if there even is a one to one trace going on.
