It’s literally my bday in less than a week

One of my most haunting social memories is when this former best friend of mine stayed over at my (former, and first ever) apartment for the first time. She asked for a towel so that she could take a shower . I grabbed a clean one out of my closet at random, and handed it to her.

Only after she went home the next day did I actually get a closer look at the towel and noticed it was FULL OF HOLES and absolutely tattered and ripped to shreds - barely useable - it was an old rag of a clean towel used in my pet rats’ cage. The rats chewed everything up, but I’d swap out and wash/dry the towels whenever I cleaned the cage, so that the rats could keep re-using it for bedding/hanging over the cage to give them some privacy.

And I had given that *literally* ratty towel to dry off with after a shower D:

I apologised to her as soon as I realised LOL she just said she thought it was kinda odd….

Tbh to this day I still burst out laughing if I randomly remember this . Oops! Handed someone My Moste Fuckede Up Towel

Like I’m not overly lonely bc I have J and text with my gfs almost every day but I miss Hanging Out and having Sleepovers. I HATE MY TINY FLAT IN MY YUCKY SUBURB

(But I’m also viscerally thankful to be housed and cosy rn and to be able to have Chaffy)
