Depends on the “In Public” in question.

I am kinda wary about doing it in places where there might be a buncha random kids, or where there might be judgy people around. Not necessarily because I am embarrassed, but more so because it could cause a scene, and look bad on the kink community.

Walkies in the middle of a fetish event? Why would you not?

Walkies in the dark where the leash isn’t even that likely to be seen? A-OK.

Walkies in a forest where there aren’t likely to be other people? Probably fine.

Walkies in the park during school hours? A bit sketchy, cause you are still kinda shoving your kink in the face of anyone around, but at least kids aren’t around.

Walkies in a crowded mall? Probably a no go.

Kinks and Fetishes are great, and should be celebrated, but not necessarily in places where other people are forced to deal with them,

In general people on tumblr are pretty unified about the “No Minors in Kink” belief, so you gotta stick with that and not be exposing minors to kink.

Maybe you are an awesome kink educator and you could explain it to some kids, but most parents aren’t you, and they are gonna explain it badly or just straight up demonize kink as a whole because you shoved it in their face.

You can easily conceal a full collar under regular clothes, especially under a jacket, and when I go walking with my wife, I am taller/longer legged than she is, and tend to outpace her when we walk, UNLESS I am playing Ingress or Pokemon Go, in which case I will lag behind.

To help with this and to make it more like a dog walk, she will make liberal use of the “Heel” Command, meaning I have to slow down to walk beside her or speed up to keep up with her.
