Music For Humans

I’ve undoubtedly made some terrible choices when it comes to dating. I have a penchant for finding women who are in positions where, despite having the means to improve their living conditions, they choose to depend on others who fix their life out of compassion. My past two ex-girlfriends had broken traffic laws or did not possess a license and couldn’t drive. They chose to anyways. Others had massive amounts of credit card debt and would frequently skip bill payments in order to have money when we went out. Nearly all of them were not athletic and would smoke or drink to excess, then complain about health issues. 

Granted, these are all individual people. I am by no means trying to group anyone together, and I feel that this selfishness and lack of character can be found in any person, regardless of gender. What I instead witness is an apparent lack of instilled accountability in the general populace. This is why I have expectations of my friends and choose to be abrasive when needed. This sort of nagging is the death rattle of any relationship, however, and I know many of my ex girlfriends have left me because of my expectations of them. 

I expect everyone living in the world to be respectful of the environment. To pay their taxes and bills and face the consequences when they refuse. I expect people to realize that they must fight tirelessly to earn time to relax and that hard work will inevitably pay off. I demand that people gracefully handle their own inner struggles and ask for help with dignity when they need it. I demand grit. I abhor entitlement. 

And I, now more than ever, refuse to allow my romantic relationships be an enabler to laziness.
