𝐎𝐧 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞
There was a light. Warmth that came from all around the area. The flowers colored the field he was standing. Wind sweeps on the petals in gentle flow, as if they were welcoming him in serenity and stillness. Its far much different than what happened back on Earthbread, crowded with fear and fury. Colored with jams and crumbles.
And there she was. Standing in the middle of field. Messy white hair in long bride with lily headband. Her dress were green sleeveless translucent. Barefoot yet the steps were lighter than a feather.
Just like how he met her back in Land of Silence.
As perceptive she was, she turns around and her dark fuchsia eyes met with his. Gentle and full of warmth. Quiet and calm like white lilies. A welcoming smile appeared from her lips, hands clasped in front.
"You have arrived, Devil of Silence." She welcome him as she walked slowly towards the knight, the sound were barely audible than the wind itself.
The other cookie, dressed in black as shadow armor & blazing cape, did not moving from where he was standing. Remains stand silent where his foot upright. He didn't said anything for a moment, wondering what he should say. Or proper way to start the conversation.
"So, its over." He finally found his voice again, "you have defeated Dark Enchantress Cookie."
White Lily smiled back of the words, relief quickly over her "I cannot say its all because of me. You helped me in this action as well. My friends... they all helping me and I cannot be more grateful for that."
Silent Salt didn't reacted but she noticed of how the movements from his helmet. Not violent. Subtle gratitude coming from the knight. It is true, White Lily wouldn't achieve this if its not from help by her friends. The Ancients. And him.
"You have given cookies a freedom and purpose," A pause, "yet the cost is much bigger than what they hoped. Your sacrifice will left an abyssal of pain and tears."
"That did not slipped from what I perceive." She says quietly, almost like a whisper that no ones could know, "But the price of freedom is massive and its limited."
Another long pause as the wind blows towards them softly. Two cookies that has seen destruction and lives. Two cookies that are crumbling yet still stood high. The words carried between the soft breeze as if it was meant to reaching to every cookies, with a wonder if it will comes to cookies that are still alive.
Silent Salt did not saying any words, head titling to endless sky. To warmth over the fields. Flowers surrounded them but its not suffocating. Accepting both of cookies without dividing line.
"I am sure your sacrifice always meant to be more than sacrifice," the voice comes out softer, "The glimmer of liberty will lighten and guide them."
White Lily turned her head to him, as if she was touched by the knight's words, before the smile turns radiant, shinning brighter than the sun itself. "The Earthbread is on good hands," she voices out her belief. Trusting her dearest friends of Earthbread.
"Now, let us resting in eternal freedom."
Silent Salt giving a slight nod, bringing his hand to his chest. Over where his Soul Jam was. The Soul Jam of Silence was.

Silent Salt groaned as he watched the other Beasts arise from the ground, wounds clearly apparent on their dough.
Mystic Flour, the Beast of Apathy; her dough showed signs of lightning strikes; her often-focused composure trembled slightly. Even her eyes showed a hint of drowsiness.
Burning Spice, the Beast of Destruction. The red dough clashed with the magic of dreams; his dough was metallic and melted, leaving only specks of red. His burning eyes still remained with his sharp-toothed snarl, clearly ready to bash Silent Salt at any moment if it wasn't for Eternal Sugar.
Eternal Sugar, the Beast of Sloth. Her lovely dough and frosting were burned, limiting much of her movement, but she was the only one who managed to calm down Burning Spice. Her eyes showed sadness, a familiar emotion for the saddened Beast, as her wings trembled.
And finally, Shadow Milk Cookie, the Beast of Deceit. Quite fitting for his title, Silent Salt thought. He was the least damaged; dust, dirt, and grim covered his dough, from head to toe, anger apparent in his eyes. Silent Salt didn't yield once he saw them; he stood firm as he pulled the sword away.
"You-!"
"Do not," Silent Salt spoke up, his voice oddly calm. "You should be thankful that I did what I did. Dark Enchantress would only get us harmed more, if not killed, if we continued our fight."
"And why should we trust you?" Burning Spice growled. "You, you have betrayed us!"
"It is not I who betrayed you," Silent Salt continued. "It is we who betrayed our creators! Our virtues, what we stand for when Earthbread first came to be!" Silent Salt explained, his anger rising. "When you all betrayed what we were, that was the moment when I, too, lost my way, lost my solidarity. I heard about the lies, the apathy, the paradise, the will to fight. I have been a witness to it all."
"But you also were corrupt, were you not?" Mystic Flour spoke, her voice low and hoarse. "Why must we share the blame for your own corruption?"
"I do blame myself, more than I admit. I know what I had done, and my heart yearns for forgiveness that I cannot allow myself to do."
"Now, then tell us this," Shadow Milk sang, his smile now wide. "What do you gain from all of this? Gain to harm us all, to trap all of us under that damn silver tree?!"
"Because I knew if we were sealed, Earthbread would be safe from all of us!" Silent Salt answered. "I knew damn well that if we stayed, Earthbread would have been killed and ceased to exist."
"Was giving our souljams away part of that plan?" Eternal Sugar asked.
"No, but Elder Faerie stated that our souljams would be transferred to those who were like us at a point in time. We did not deserve them. You know why we don't."
Silent Salt grazed his owl souljam, watching it shimmer slightly. "She is near…"
"Who is?"
"White Lily Cookie," Silent Salt spoke up. "She has a plan for us to defeat Dark Enchantress, but I need you all, you have the strength that we need for this."
"But she was the one who gave us our powers?" Burning Spice gasped, bewildered by that statement.
"By the time we leave this capsule, she will not be a cookie anymore, she will be a witch! A human witch, just like the ones who created us, but she intends to destroy us! She merely used us because she knew we wouldn't refuse. Like White Lily, she fights for the freedom of all , but freedom means, if someone gets in her way, she shall harm and crumble us."
Shadow Milk snarled, but he knew Silent Salt was right. Even deep down, he knew what would happen if she succeeded in her ultimate plan. He delighted in it at first; the thoughts of seeing those pitiful faces on those cookies made him smile, knowing he would get something out of it. But even he had some doubts, especially after what the souljams of him and Pure Vanilla have spoken.
He hated that.
But he also knew, if he were to survive, it was finally time to take the hand of the one who truly understood.
"We will do it," Shadow Milk spoke up.
"Who the hell is we in this conversation?" Burning Spice raged. "I do not agree to any of this! I came to cause destruction, and destruction is what I came to do."
"But you were once a Herald, Burning Spice, you know what war leads to, yet you thirst for it?" Eternal Sugar hissed towards him. "You are no better than the ones who hurt the cookies that come out of my garden."
"A garden that no one is allowed to leave in," Mystic Flour added. "Burning Spice may be war hungry but you refuse to fight at all. You do not wish harm on others but you harm those for simply leaving that colorful nightmare you call a paradise."
"As if you understand my feelings, Mystic Flour, after what happened to you, you closed yourself off. You wanted us to return to our truest forms, not even think for a moment that could harm us, especially if we return to flour we ceased to exist at all."
Mystic Flour, for seemingly the first time, seemed stiffened at Eternal Sugar's words.
"I only wish for us to return because of the pain and greed those cookies have cost us. They only see us as gods, gods that could help them in an instant. But once they realize that I cannot help with merely everything, they called me emotionless, a husk of a cookie, a person who could never understand emotion," Mystic Flour trembled. "It hurts to even relived those words, and the memories. I allow them to be their greatest selves, but once they became unsatisfied, they always wanted more and more. It hurts to be the one to blame for others cookies undoing."
"Ha, you think you had it bad?" Shadow Milk laughed as he swirled around Mystic Flour. "How about being the one with infinite knowledge, but truly having a hard truth as an answer. They treated me like I was to blame for their mistakes and wrongdoings. When I told the truth, I got ridiculed, so for once, perhaps I shall perform a white lie, to soothe them, but once they learned about the lie, they accused me of being a liar, a perpetrator of the deceit, all because I did not want them to know the truth of our creation. It hurt knowing with every word you make, it leads to a disaster."
"When I created my paradise, it was merely for the protection of the sick and weak. And when they decide to leave, I let them. I knew those cookies would be okay, but every time, I hear about death, after death, soon after they leave my paradise. I thought if I can prevent many to leave, no cookies were die, and I wouldn't have to feel the guilt I feel every time they leave," Eternal Sugar cried, wiping her tears. "And when I finally met her, I wanted to protect her, worrying about the wrong outcome. She needed protection, but it wasn't for Beast Yeast. But from me."
"When things started to change, I thought it was for the good, to see how the world could evolve around me," Burning Spice sighed. "But that's when all of this fighting happened. I never minded a good fight, but then the complains came in. I was supposed to change it, but when those fights became contentious, more complaints came in. I hated it. I hated when cookies died; it meant I was not doing my role as a Herald. I was letting them die, they told me. But it also led to fights, and as the fights continued, the more bloodlust I felt, to the point it delighted me when someone challenged me. They made me feel like the only way they respect me is when I fight."
"Now, do you see?" Silent Salt whispered. "We were all forsaken, abused, forgotten, but we gave them what they wanted. They wanted someone to fear, and we gave in to that fear. But it's only we who can change their views of us."
Silent Salt gripped the handle of his sword, looking towards his fellow Beasts. He watched as each nodded; they wanted to change, even if it meant the road would be hard and rocky.
With a shuddering breath, he allowed the red sky to be seen, and they watched as a giant resembling Dark Enchantress Cookie sneered down at the cookies below, gripping one of the knights in her hands. The cracks could be heard throughout it all.
"Unhand that cookie," Silent Salt cried, pointing his sword at her. "You are a disgrace of a cookie kind!"
Dark Enchantress stared deep into Silent Salt, her laughter huge and menacing.
"Ah, it's nice to see you all, witness me at my most powerful!" She laughed as she walked forward, cookies rushing away from her feet. She leaned down for a moment, her head tilting slightly. But it did not matter to her as she waved her hand, summoning several strings that dangled above the oven where the Ultimate Cookie remained.
"What the hell are we going to do?"
"Cover me, I need all my might and White Lily needs hers," Silent Salt ordered as he summoned his horse. "She needs all the help that she can get!"
The Beasts rushed over as the Ancients began to fight the newly formed Witch.
Mystic Flour watched as Dark Cacao got smacked down, quickly summoning a hand to grab him, preventing him from crumbling onto the ground. She slowly walked over to him, knowing that Dark Cacao wouldn't trust her, but his strength softened as he watched her stand before him, completely ready to defend him. It was an unspoken vow of trust and forgiveness, which Dark Cacao can respect.
Eternal Sugar, even with her wings burned and battered, managed to grab onto a pushed-back Hollyberry, using her wings to at least soften their fall. Hollyberry coughed as she saw Eternal Sugar, who gripped her shoulder in pain.
"You know you didn't have to catch me," She spoke softly, offering her hand. "You know I could protect you."
"But it was my turn to protect you, my other half," Eternal Sugar giggled, as she took Hollyberry's hand.
Burning Spice managed to catch a failing Golden Cheese with his body, grunting a little.
"Uh?!" Golden Cheese gasped and fluttered her wings, obviously dismayed. "Unhand me, you destructive brute!"
"Hey, I just save you back there," Burning Spice frowned.
"…Perhaps I'll let it slide for now," Golden Cheese coughed as she looked up at Dark Enchantress. "Were you aware of this?"
"Nope, none of us were," Burning Spice admitted.
As everyone huddled together, still wounded at best, Dark Enchantress's hand allowed her magic to send a red beam of magic, which Pure Vanilla shielded. He gripped his staff until his palms bled, groaning as the shield began to shrink, almost at the brink of cracking. Suddenly, Pure Vanilla felt a rush of power, allowing himself to breathe. His blurry vision allowed him to see a hint of blue mixed in with his yellows, and to see the blues and blacks.
"Shadow Milk?" Pure Vanilla coughed.
Pure Vanilla looked around, seeing the Beasts behind him. He didn't react with shock, but with an odd sense of relief. He didn't know what they were doing there, but he couldn't really figure out how to ask.
He watched as Silent Salt approached with his fellow knights, seeing that the ghostly apparitions kept a tear in the sky open, allowing petals of lilies to fly into the air, distracting the Dark Enchantress.
Pure Vanilla fell on his knees as the shield finally broke, with Shadow Milk saving his fall. He flinched slightly at Shadow Milk's touch, but he smiled, looking up at him.
"What's with the sudden change of heart?"
"Truth and Deceit are one, remember?"
Pure Vanilla let out a small laugh as he was helped up, gasping as White Lily emerged with the Avatar of Destiny, who screamed in dismay as he swung his claws at Dark Enchantress, allowing both White Lily and Silent Salt to strike her exposed heart. The Witch screamed in pain as she swats them off her, glaring down at White Lily.
"You are a mere pathetic version of my past self," her vice grumbled, her gooey hands reaching towards her. "Do you realize when you strike and I die, you shall die?"
White Lily's eyes refused to falter as she gripped her staff. "Doesn't matter what my final moments shall be, if it means I can save all of Earthbread from your hand, then so be it!"
As Dark Enchantress decided to strike, the Avatar of Destiny began to attack, summoning swirls of astral magic. Silent Salt rushed towards White Lily, bringing her onto his horse to get to the others as they watched as the Avatar of Destiny summoned one last magical blow, striking Dark Enchantress deep in the heart once more, only now, it resembled a spear that pinned her to the ground.
White Lily coughed as she clutched her chest, her jam leaking down her lips.
"You do not understand, even after all of this time," Dark Enchantress coughed as she reached for the sunny sky. "The freedom that I longed for, for cookiekind. I would've succeeded, if it weren't for your overwhelming love for those….I gave up those feelings a long time ago, you should've too."
White Lily groaned as she rested in Pure Vanilla's arms. "That's not freedom…freedom is allowing those to choose for themselves what to do. You were gonna force them to follow your ideals of freedom, which I cannot let happen, Dark Enchantress…That's what freedom needs to be, the ability to choose."
Everyone watched as Dark Enchantress crumbled as the sun peered through the clouds. White Lily smiled as the Ancients surrounded her.
"…I wanted to say sorry, for every thing that I have done to you," White Lily whimpered. "I let my own curiosity cause a horrible war, to lead her to harm every one of you."
"I'm glad we get to see you again, old friend," Dark Cacao chuckled.
White Lily looked down at her hand, watching as she felt herself crumble. "I wish I could've found a way for myself, but I know I can be happy, knowing my friends are safe and sound from Dark Enchantress."
"Mayhaps, there is one way,"
Everyone looked towards Eternal Sugar, with a jar of jam in her hands. She quickly rushed over and allowed a small dollop of jam on her finger.
"Is that the jam from your gardens?" Hollyberry asked.
Eternal Sugar nodded as she carefully fed White Lily, watching as pink light traveled throughout her body. Within seconds, White Lily gasped and forced herself up again. She looked down at her hands, watching as pink magic sealed her dough together.
"That's amazing," Pure Vanilla gasped.
"I told you my paradise has the most wonderful things," Eternal Sugar giggles towards Hollyberry.
White Lily smiled as she got up, looking down at her healed body again.
"How were you able to do it?" White Lily asked. "It feels like I have never crumbled at all."
"That was a special jelly I have made to heal cracks within cookie's dough. I never used it as much until today."
As the sun peaked, everyone was huddled together, clearly asking question after question, but everyone knew that the war was over and White Lily was simply White Lily once again.
It was agreed that if the Beasts were to stay with Cookie Kind, many things would have to change.
But right now? It was only the beginning of a road of redemption.
