Presence felt when feet touched the sand since the moment the stranger arrived made him aware of his presence, and through his devil fruit follow his movements. Any pirate would’ve been taken care of, but sensing only one person signified a lone wolf, perhaps a traveller. He decided not to waste his time while paperwork was to be done and his deeds of a hero carried out, so he ignored the traveller for a few hours until he was finished, following him subconsciously throughout the desert country.
Inhuman, the aura of this individual was strange upon arrival, reminding of dreads of war and having it walk in the embodiment of a person. It got him interested to say the least, but also wary. There were all kinds of people in the world, and while emotions could be felt to a degree and aura’s deciphered, this one just left a sour taste in mouth. And soon enough, was in his establishment.
Normal behaviour, no incidents - he followed from den den cameras, a raven haired tan male he’d easily say was a local if not for registration in his hotel. He was almost ready to leave him be, until the man decided to focus on his pets. Dispersing into sand and reforming near him, he walked towards him until they weren’t more than a meter apart, a glare sent towards the other.
“ I’d recommend stepping back away from them, they’re also trained to kill on command. ” It was his intention to come of as irritated, a certain edge given to his cutting words to show displeasure. One hand was in the pocket of his pants while the other one with the hook gestured, eyes searching for any sudden movements that would make him act. “ What brings you to Alabasta? You seem to know your way around the desert, but you also seem like someone with a certain goal in mind. Card games or challenging your luck doesn’t seem to interest you, otherwise you wouldn’t be here. What is it that you’re after? ”
A smile tugged at his lips, the similarities between two individuals unmistakable. Whether the man in front of him knew it, or had any connection to Alabasta himself, he did remind him of a certain god - Seth. The wary attitude, the storm of a character, control over the desert sand, the creeping anger, and of course violence brewing in golden irises. If he hadn’t known better he would’ve mistook him for the Alabastan god.
Hand retreated, indulging the man before him as he slowly rose, his composure confident and above all, serene. Unusual for someone associated with destruction and war, yet he would argue those intimately familiar with chaos were those truly capable of overruling it. “ Once a voyage is done, the only thing left is to return home. Mine, as you can conclude, is for the time being finished. ” He motioned towards the grand casino, eyes scanning each and every detail before he spoke. “ My home used to be in this same spot once. ”
His focus returned on casino’s owner, watching for his reactions. Would they end up amusing him or would they stir up his own emotions on the matter, he wondered. “ I must say the architecture is lacking. Not speaking only of the casino, Alabastan architecture has downgraded in general. I’m not against progress and modern takes, which I assume yours is, but the grandeur the kingdom once had is lost. ” He mused aloud quietly, nostalgia faintly gripping onto his heart. “ Or maybe I’m just getting old. ”
He was aware he could return to the realm of gods whenever he wished, yet something made him stay. Yes, people, but there was something even more profound - human will. Equally tameable and untameable whirlwind of force that rivaled the gods. “ As for what I’m after, the splendour of human soul. It is quite rare to capture these days. ”
