I've been rewatching Stargaze to help me work on my vashmeryl fic and have been listening to the score on repeat for a few weeks. Honestly, it's still a beautiful show and I love it more with each rewatch. I think stepping back from the fandom some has helped my enjoyment immensely. My critiques are minor; really more acknowledgents that twelve episodes isn't a lot and different hands worked on this phase of the project. And that's more than okay. Different creative vision. Every Trigun does that. Nightow does that himself through his 12 years of serialization.

You'll be hard pressed to influence or coerce me into disliking any version of Trigun. Sorry, it's my favorite story and I'm also an artist (in the "arts" sense). Stargaze is just another lens to enjoy it and think differently about what's being said.

My time alone with it has been so enjoyable.

I do think I have a certain privilege with being a fan that followed the manga's publication in high school. I got to live through Nightow taking creating leaps I wouldn't have expected or preferred. I was younger and not as emotionally intelligent. I did get upset when things in the manga weren't to my liking. However, it didn't stop me from loving it to the very end. How it experience Stargaze felt like 2003-2007 all over again. And for that, I am grateful.

Expecting an adaptation to remain static goes against the very DNA of Trigun as a decades-long running series. Let it evolve and speak to the time it's currently being created in.

I’ve been using this Nightow tutorial for all of these weekly panel redraws. It’s been really interesting to learn about his art style and process!

I was amused to learn we both add pressure to our pens to thicken lines rather than draw more to fill.

His method is fun!
