Murder me with Ink

I'm gonna hold your hand while I say this: my canvas is on average 1000x1200px or something around that, I very rarely work bigger 🫣

It might have to do with the software or brush engine used tbh, I know it makes a huge difference for me if I use CSP or something like Photoshop for instance. Clip studio paint is my favourite and she never betrays me when it comes to the brush feel.

(If you don't see it right away, you can go to your "sub-tool detail" window (🔧) and you'll find it under the Anti-aliasing menu)

The gist of it is that for extra crisp lineart, sometimes you may want to use the least amount of Anti-aliasing possible, or not at all. That way you avoid that "blurry" look on your lines.

This is more or less what the difference looks like. Mind you, it IS pretty subtle up close, but it can still make a difference in the overall feel of the brush, especially if you're working with a higher DPI.

And if everything else fails... you can still use the "Sharpen" filter on your lineart. It's especially useful when you've resized the lineart at some point and you want to get rid of that blurry look afterwards.
