Seems we’ve fully evolved into 1984. Not even surprised.
I hate that this is happening. I hate that a bunch of corporate stooges have the power to take away a lot of artist’s livelihoods and don’t even give a shit that they’re doing it.
I feel for all the artists this is going to effect and want to say Thank you for all the entertainment and ideas you’ve provided me with over the years.
That said on a personal level this is kinda good for me.
I spend too much time scrolling through my dash and frankly it’s more stressful keeping-up with it that fun and I’ve been sick of it for some time. I only joined this site in the first place to follow NSFW artists I liked and that quickly spiraled out of control. I think I’m only following maybe five SFW blogs at all and while I’ll miss seeing them I think when the hammer falls I’m just going to walk away.
I hate social media. I feel like it’s done more harm than good to people IRL with how ideologues have weaponized it and I absolutely refuse to go anywhere near Twitter or Facebook on principle so really my only active online presence will probably be the occasional comment on YouTube (and who knows how long that’s going to last the way things are going) and lurking on Paheal. I don’t even engage there anymore since the old pony clique I used to B.S. with there has long since moved on.
TL;DR: NSFW artists thank you for your service, I’ll miss you all but I won’t miss this site sucking hours out of my life.
