✰ — tea & pastries ;
msufriday:
SHE IS A TEA PARTY EXPERT. okay, not really. more like a self-indulgence expert. what more is a tea party than grandeur indulgence in its finest? and what mom knew best—next to relationships and love—was how to indulge herself. now, in comparison to the excessively extravagant china tea set mom has back home, mokseong’s setup didn’t quite measure up. but it was still plenty cute and the candy bar looked divine. not to mention the view—her eyes survey the area; a quiet blossoming sensation unfurling in the crux of her chest.
pretty face upon pretty face upon pretty face upon biceps upon pretty face. amazing.
speaking of: her eyes shoot back into her pretty little head at the clear chime of a familiar voice, reigning in her focus to fixate on the girl in front of her, eyes wide and attentive like a meerkat while she speaks on. then, a rival-the-sun grin. “oh! hi!” friday chirps in greeting, arms instinctively winding around hazel’s waist for a quick hug (careful of the things in her hands) before pulling back. “i haven’t seen you all day—i was wondering why my day seemed so gaunt.” she jests, eyes lowering to the pastries in hazel’s hands; mouth forming a small ‘o’ at the sheer number of them. tempting, but so was the new silk slip she just bought.
“well you know homebaked goods are always better than store bought—” lowers her voice into a whisper here, only half joking. “but don’t tell honeydew i said that, i don’t want my customer card revoked.” her head whips around while she speaks, scanning for an open table. “but, we can share! or, i’ll just watch you eat—let’s go sit over there!” friday moves to pluck the plate out of pastries out of hazel’s grasp, freeing a hand for her to grab and squeeze—tugging her friend along to the open table underneath the fairy lights.
“did you just get here? did you get a tea reading already? i was gonna go but i got distracted by the candy bar—” friday takes a breath, pulling a chair back for hazel before easing into the seat over. “but then i’m also scared like what if i get something like the grim?” she grimaces.
“yikes.” imagine that.
hazel followed friday, thanking her for the chair before taking a seat and emptying the contents of her arms onto the table. “oh, i didn’t just get here, no,” she explained, fidgeting with a pastry she was preparing to eat. “did you see a girl with red hair? i was with her for a bit, and before that i was alone.” she paused, picking off a piece of the pastry and dropping it into her mouth. “off-topic, sorry. but no, i haven’t had time to get a tea reading. i thought about it, but then i saw you and... i think maybe you have a point? what if they just tell me something i’d rather not hear? then i’d spend the next few days overthinking it, and...” she paused, letting out a sigh before taking another bite of her sweets. “maybe it just isn’t worth the trouble?”
