SPOILERS! (On the 3rd paragraph)
This follows a group of teenagers dubbed the Young Avengers (obviously) by a newspaper journalist due to the striking resemblance of their uniforms to the recently disbanded Avengers. The team consists of Iron Lad, Patriot, Hulkling and Asgardian (terrible name), who are later joined by Cassie Lang and Kate Bishop after hearing about the team, as they fight various (1.5) villains.
I thought this was a very good start to the young avengers series as it gives a good look at all of their personalities and performances as heros. The art is great, the story is easy to follow and is written very well. I really enjoyed reading this and probably will read again.
One thing I really liked about this is how obvious it is that the resemblance to the Avengers is put on and is only to catch their attention. When you see their personality’s and for some of them all of their powers you realise that they are nothing like the Avengers. Iron Lad is more nervous in the team and their work, compared to Iron Man who was a lot more relaxed about it. Patriot who is very hot-headed, compared to Captain America who is ,mostly, calm and composed. Hulkling who is said many times throughout the issues to be very polite and good with talking things through, compared to Hulk who is known for resorting straight to fighting. Asgardian who is very unsure of his powers, compared to Thor who has a lot of confidence in his powers, also Asgardian is a witch and has a lot more powers than lightning and isn’t even from Asgard (which is why I think the name is dumb).
These are not exact but more to do with how members of both teams are viewed by the media
