"What a long day, doing so much paperwork...I just need to sit and relax" Kat says as the servants get her ready for the night. she decides to stop talking the rest of the time, after all the servants were probably tired as well and wanted some rest. As the servants' finish getting her dressed, she starts to ask one of them to grab her a cup of tea but stops. Maybe Isvad wants a drink, she should just go ask him to be sure, if he does then that's one less trip for the servant to make. She steps out of her changing room to find Isvad sitting on the bed, closing a book. "Hey Isvad, I was just about to ask the servant to grab a drink, do you want anything?" She asks as she climbs on the bed and sits.
"No thank you, I am heading off to bed myself" Isvad says as he starts to get ready to sleep. "Alrighty, have a good night Isvad!" Kat says as she watches him lay down. "Good night to you as well my lady" he lays down and drifts off to sleep.
Kat ends up getting her tea and maybe a few snacks, she of course gives some to Antonio before he signs off of his position to sleep. She sits in bed reading her book about vampires, still trying to find out the cause of her red eyes that seem to be causing a stir, but also finding more facts about vampires to just show off that she knows, after all if her and Isvad are going to get up to the vampiram then she will need as much knowledge about vampires as she can get. after a few hours of reading, she finishes what little of the book she had left and closes it. what to do now? go to sleep? no. she's not tired enough for that, read more... That will suit for now. But what she should read is the question of the night. she ends up going to one of the books that Dimitri recommended she read if she wanted to learn more about vampires and their ancient languages.
She sits on the bed once more and begins reading when all of the sudden she hears Isvad breathing heavily. Strange, he normally doesn't do that, I mean maybe he is having a dream. And who is she to wake him up and ask, he looks peaceful... Well peaceful is definitely not the word anymore "What's going on?" she mumbles as she looks and sees he is.... He is crying enough to soak the pillow. "Oh my god is he okay" she thinks to herself, this isn't normal especially for him.
She reaches out to touch his shoulder to wake him but before she can reach him, he shoots up breathing heavily like he just ran a marathon.
"Isvad?" Kat says in a worried voice, now she starts really getting worried as he looks even worse, paler, sweating. But before she can get anything else out of her mouth, Isvad quickly gets up " I apologize my lady, I believe- I think someone is cutting onions- or something. Please excuse me" He says in a rushed voice. Well, isn't that a load of bullshit, no chef is even up now, and even then, how could he have a reaction to onions all the way up here. "Isvad what's going on" she stands up and starts walking towards the man pacing around the room. "Nothing is wrong my lady, as I said it is probably just-" he says before he is cut off. "Isvad, no one is cooking and its okay if you had a nightmare just calm down and take a breath, you look horrible...No offense" Kat looks him up and down as she stands in front of him.
Isvad sighs "My lady, I insist everything is fine, no just get some rest" he says as he tries to brush it off. "I'm not going to bed until I know you're okay. you can talk to me, I talk about my problems all the time to you." She steps closer as Isvad looks to the ground "You don't even have to talk, just come back to bed" Kat looks at him desperately "please" Isvad finally looks at her, those damn words.
"Fine." He finally says "Good, now you look tired, come on." She grabs his hand and helps him on the bed, then gets on her side of her bed. "You didn't have to do this my lady, I would've been fine" Isvad says in a gloom voice. But genuinely what would he have done, kat wouldn't have let him sleep on the couch and where else would he go. "Don't think about that, you need to go to sleep and get your much needed rest, please" Kat says still worried but calming down for his sake, after all there can't be two stressed people here.
"I suppose so..." he looks away "Do you mind if I rest my...My head on you" he asks quietly, almost too quiet for Kat to hear. That's what he always did when he was still with Kestrin, she never minded. Tut he didn't expect kat to agree, after it came out of his mouth he immediately regretting saying it "You don't have to, of course!" He starts to panic again, was this too forward, did he just embarrass himself oh lord...
Kat looks at him at first in confusion but then in a soft, loving manner. she takes her hands and lays his head down on top of the blankets that cover her lap. his face immediately turns red as a tomato, "damn this woman" he thinks to himself, but Kat finds this funny seeing as the roles are reversed tonight instead of her being flustered. His shoulder starts to stop being tense and just relaxed as he sits in the comfort of his wife.
A few hours later as kat is reading her book, she continues to run her fingers through her husband's hair as he sleeps. his breathing slow and no longer panicked. He no longer has the dreadful nightmare that haunts him. This shall not be discussed tomorrow but that is okay for kat, she is content with the present and spends no more time thinking about it.
they get a happy ending for now;)
