I’ve been hurt, broken down and used. I’ve had my walls come down quite often and at times it’s hard to piece myself back together again. I just want to say thank you for cherishing and loving me wholeheartedly; thank you for being the best version of yourself, so that I can then achieve that same greatness. When I was eighteen years old I was sexually abused by a man whom I did not know… It’s been a battle with my mental health and numerous counselors since the encounter. Love me, but do so in a way that I know represents how you truly feel about me, do so in a nurturing way please. There are some days where I sit and think about how lucky I am to have you in my life, and for that, I am forever grateful. I’ve been broken down by people whom I thought were my friends, but they were users and abusers. I know that deep down in my heart I have the strength to love and care for you and treat you with the respect that we both deserve. I know how to love someone so deeply that it hurts, but will you truly be by my side through it all? I hope so. So many days I think about things that could’ve gone differently in my life, but I’m thankful for each encounter I’ve made with great people alongside me. Know that when you’re getting involved with someone like me that I struggle immensely with my mental health; some days I’m fine and others everything deteriorates again. Mental health isn’t something that should be overlooked, so if that is too much for you to handle then I fully understand. I hope to be with someone who understands and wants to understand all of me– Not someone who only stays for awhile and leaves, because they cannot handle ‘me.’ because when someone you fall for leaves, y’know what it does to the other person? it breaks them, it makes them feel as if they’re worthless and nothing in this world, it makes them feel broken down and beaten. Do you really want to harm someone by leaving? No, no one should ever think of leaving someone they truly love or loved. I know one day I’ll find my person, but until then I’ll continue to write love letters or whatever is on my mind that day, because it helps me cope, writing is my safe haven, its my serenity. <3
