I'm seventeen, and I'm scared. I'm very very scared. I'm not old enough to vote in the upcoming election. I'm missing the age cutoff by two weeks. And I, like so many of my fellow teenagers who are unable to vote, am very very scared for what I see the adults of this country doing. You are endorsing not voting for Biden, despite knowing that Trump is overjoyed by your decision, that a vote for a third party is a vote for Trump.

She started the series super confident, accepting her role thanks to white lotus mentoring, and was doing the work on her spirituality homework. And all we see is her suffer and suffer and suffer to where she eventually just leaves the physical world with asami. She literally "walked into the light."

Being a woman, and watching a woman endure traumatic event after traumatic event, was horrifying. Seeing a woman get scarred by her sister. seeing a queen die on screen. Asami becoming an orphan. Katara's accomplishments completely overwritten. Suki not even present. Kuvira's tragic backstory. Tenzin's wife (that's how unvalued she is, I think her name was pema????) is just an air bender baby factory who doesn't teach air nomad culture or history to the kids. Or do anything except be tenzin's weakness. Zaheer's plot device girlfriend who had to die so he could get super powers.

You can't call it girl power if you just make us watch crimes committed against the female lead cast. Sexist assholes been having female leads in all media for as long as there have been stories. a:tla had more girl power than LoK could ever. Think of ty Lee, Suki, motherfucking PoW Hama, aunt Wu, kyoshi, yang Cheng, Ursa (you'll never tell me she *didn't* straight up murder azulon), Kya, Kanna!!!!! toph, YUE, Jun, AZULAAAAA 🔥🔥🔥🔥, ugh there's so much wonderful, diverse representation. And they weren't *all* traumatized on-screen. Living through a fucking 100 year war was trauma enough.

Katara is practically in Aang’s shadow, never does anything of value apparently, Toph becomes a cop even though she hates rules, Aang is a bad dad for Drama™️, Sokka barely exists but at least he did like two things of importance, and Suki wherest?

Zuko is probably the only one that didn’t get messed up in LoK (can’t remember how badly screwed over he was in LoK), with the exception of being allowed to be in the same area as Katara bc apparently being in the same frame as she is (too much power apparently, is your faith in your canon ship that weak????). (Though I would say that the worst that happened to him happened in the comics)

I don't remember even hearing about anyone who disliked LoK because of girl cooties. Seems unlikely considering Toph and Suki are two of the most popular characters in the franchise, and both of them are kinda butch and highly capable. More than Korra was at the start, in fact.

I got the impression she personally hated being constrained, not the existence of rules Per Se. According to the wiki, she actually wanted an adult’s responsibilities.

Toph hated being treated like a porcelain doll because of her disability.

She hated that her family refused to see the person she was, and instead saw a crippled little girl who must be coddled and protected from the big bad world.

I never figured lava bending was because of mixed heritage, I figured it was just Bolin being able to figure out a new form of bending, like Toph did.

I hate this idea that Aang had to be perfect, and it’s out of character that he’d be a bad father.

He was a fucking child solider. His life was a nightmare scenario of near constant stress and death.

He was literally hunted like an animal, and had to topple multiple governments as a preteen. He was rebuilding the world before he could legally drink alcohol, trying to rebuild his civilization from scratch, and still be a father.

He died extremely young for an Air Bender on top of that. Aang probably worked himself to death to try and build a better world for everyone else.
