obvs it can be annoying for others when people don't understand something "obvious"
but I do wish people would hold more grace for people who are "stupid"
as my cognitive & memory symptoms get worse I'm seeing myself in these stories more and more
the woman who is visibly confused in public and doesn't see the sign right next to her and asks the same question multiple times because she doesn't understand the answer or is failing to communicate the question she actually means to ask.
the person who enters a building and has to ask if she's found the right place, because she's too overwhelmed to put together the "obvious"
the person who is polite and respectful but who still needs something explained three different ways before she gets it.
and I get the frustration, I really do.
but the next time you see a "total idiot" in public who clearly genuinely has no idea what's going on, please just try to remember that it sucks to be that person too.
and as someone who has no choice about being that person, it sucks to see post after post ripping into people for just being confused in public. Not rude or entitled, just confused.
Obvs I'm not saying people shouldn't vent or laugh online at anonymous strangers who will never see it. Especially when they ARE rude or entitled!
I just feel like I'm seeing a lot more posts about "stupid people" recently and half the time "being stupid" was the only thing they did to piss ppl off and...

If you knew that "stupid" person was confused bc they're disabled, would you be just as mean?
If not, please consider: why on earth would you expect to always know when a stranger in public is disabled?
People are generally trying their best. Even those who aren't disabled—u don't know what their day is like!

Have you ever been so upset you barely know what's going on? Ever had to run errands while coming off anaesthesia or while a loved one is dying or while your scary newly-ex is blowing up your phone with threats or god, even just when you'd been up all night and feel like shit?
Giving people grace when and how you can is an incredibly rewarding practice. I want us all to be given that grace when we most need it.

“Hero.“ Any love, any happiness was gone from their beloved’s voice. Hero’s shoulders tensed. “Do you get how… how traumatizing that is? How violated I feel?”
This was… not how the moment was supposed to play out.
“What gave it away?” Hero asked.
Villain slid into a fighting stance, and Hero was alarmed at the growing fury burning in their gaze. “I’ve never swung your way, Hero. Do some research next time.”

I'm feeling some kind of way, so have a villain who was sneaking around the heros base at the wrong time, ends up in the middle of a battle, and gets hit by a "love potion" type attack. The battle ends, and villain simps hard for the hero.

"Villain?"
Flushed cheeks. Trembling.
"Villain are you okay?"
Feeling.. passionate. Anxious.
"Hero.." Villain groans and slowly sits up on their knees, not taking their eyes off of Hero.
They're beautiful. Pretty. Lovely. Amazing, in this lighting. It takes Villains breath away.
I've seen a lot of things where aromatic (previously written as asexual but sincere thanks to who corrected me) people drink a love potion and are completely unaffected (I'm not aromatic I'm bi so if anything in this comes across negatively it is completely unintentional, but all mistakes are my own regardless.) but I must present another interpretation. We need to talk about different kinds of love. Romantic, platonic, familial. And that needs to be incorporated into fantasy settings too.
SO the villain drops a love potion, fully expecting the protagonist to be completely under their spell, entirely doe eyed and head-over-heel in romantic love.
Instead they get either:
a) someone who really wants to be best friends. Football buddies. BFF's. The villain desperately tries to escape them, but no.
Villain, sliding to the ground in a locked room: finally. Thank god. Hero: ...Villain. Wanna watch the game this Saturday? Villain: fucKING LEAVE ME ALONE I SWEAR-

b) Someone who feels like a parent. Suddenly the villain isn't their enemy, but an obligation. Hero feels protective of the antagonist, but in a role of authority.
Villain, trapped in a padded cell: WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU- Hero: no, you razed the city, now you're in time out. Villain: WHAT SORT OF SADISTIC MOTHERFUCKER- Hero: I'm not any happier about this than you are ☹

All I'm saying is this is a way of a love potion backfiring that is not explored enough. If it's intended to produce romantic love, if it's unable to would it not move to producing an emotion as similar as possible instead of just...dissipating?

and while he's fretting, Trinity's being theater-kid dramatic in the back like, "but when I fell you didn't care! Not even the kid can save this marriage :(".
The cat's name is Lunch because Trinity thinks it's comedy gold to say "I'm gonna go get lunch" and come back with the stupid cat.
You can't be upset at people calling out bigotry in a character when it's obvious that the show isn't going to ever focus on that or call the character out. Like that isn't "realistic writing" or "just a morally grey normal person having prejudice" it's writers who unintentionally made a character bigoted. Stop trying to make them sound smarter than they are, they aren't. The show will still praise and love the character and show them doing no wrong.

It's crazy that landgon can yell at santos in the first season and the fandom agrees that it's wrong. But somehow when Robby does it multiple times with mohan, it's fine? Like is it because he's not yelling loudly? Like I don't get it, he has the same weird bias landgon had with santos but his is okay because... Apparently the writers attended for him to be doing it because "he sees her potential"??? It's literally just because he is the main character.
