sorry to bring gfintwt discourse nachos to tumblr but i don't think theres anything inherently wrong with nakamura objectifying hirose in the first few eps of the anime. how did you expect nakamura, a socially outcasted and awkward boy who fell in love at first sight, to act in front of hirose—his crush—whom he also just met?
more importantly though, it's not as if nakamura's perceptions don't change at all. as the story progresses and he gets more chances to interact with hirose, nakamura learns what kind of person he is—not just about his interests, but of his personality as well. that's why in ep 6, nakamura expresses that he's glad he fell in love with hirose—not just because he's his type—but because hirose treated him with the kindness and consideration he never received from his other peers
and let's not forget, even if nakamura deludes himself about an idealized version of hirose in his head every now and then, nakamura would never think of putting hirose in an uncomfortable position because of his attraction to him. even if we see nakamura looking out for chances/scenarios where he's with hirose romantically, he only ever wanted to be hirose's friend because he's under the assumption that hirose is straight (check: ep 12/13)
so no, i don't think nakamura objectifying hirose early-story poses any issue, because nakamura's already learning to deconstruct the idealized version of hirose in his head, and he's willing to learn more about him because at this point in the story, hirose's not just his love interest anymore, but his friend.
