And why would that be considered a bad thing?

Bobby!
You are very funny. I planted roses in the garden all by myself. I got filthy, but I have a new part of the garden.
Dare I ask why you bothered?
Bobby!
You will never guess what I did to today.
Had sex? Broke a world record? Went to South America as part of a drug bust? I don't know.

[text] I'm pretty sure that not dating until they are married is a bad idea. You busy? I was going to grab some coffee and cookies.
[text] It's merely my suggestion. I'm free, I'll see you in a bit?
[text] Yes, you are very smart.
[text] That's why my kids should do what I say.
[text] You were right and I hate the tabloids.
[text] I'm always right.
A well earned drink for sitting through the most turbulence-filled flight ever.Â
Guess I'm stuck with orange juice again.

The Clouds Are Falling Around Me || Bobby and Sylvie
Making that corner, standing at the end of the aisle was a moment she never wanted to forget. Not from the unparalleled attention she got, but simply the look of adoration she saw on Bobby’s face. She had nixed the veil, but she wish she hadn’t since she didn’t want to look like a grinning baboon on her wedding day. Sylvie took a deep breath, and with each step onto the aisle, as her heels crushed the petals laid down so carefully by Nev and Aby, Sylvie took her first steps to forever.Â
She would watch the wedding video and say the string quartet, the flowers, the lights and the ceremony was magnificent. However, at that moment, all Sylvie could see was Bobby standing at the end of the alter. Dapper and fine, her fiancee stood and looked at her like she was his world. No one on planet Earth could even compare to how lucky she was then - Sylvie had long realized that be it The Plaza, Central Park or Gotham Hall, it didn’t matter. All that mattered was she was marrying Robert Harper - she would’ve done it down in City Hall if she had to. "You’re everything we’ve wanted and more Sylvie," her father whispered to her. To hear that she had exceeded expectations and made her parents proud urged tears she didn’t know she was holding back to push their limits even more. She looked to her mother, wearing an expression of love and happiness for her. It was one she had almost never seen, but to have finally received approval from her family as she started her own one was a sign from the universe that she had done everything right. Kissing her father on the cheek as he handed her over to Bobby at the end of the aisle. She felt a surge of warmth building in her as her father looked to Bobby with that of acceptance, pride and most importantly, love. He had never outrightly given his blessing, but she’ll take this as his way of approving. With her father now sitting down, it was just Bobby and her. She looked at the face that she had grown to accustom to looking at every morning, but will never grow tired of looking at. To her, he was her future - a big void of unknown that she was oh so eager to venture into.
Sylvie could never walk fast enough for Bobby but he was happy to wait, knowing these were the final few minutes he would have without being married to her. But then, what sort of life would it be if he didn't have Sylvie in it? However much he had been pretending as if he was okay, as if he didn't need anybody else, he was happy then - or so he said. Whatever else he knew to be true, he was sure that he would never have been as happy as he was now if he hadn't had Sylvie to keep him company and show him that he could love himself, and other people, again. Asking her to be his wife had been the most obvious move, he hadn't wanted to spend another day without being married to her.
As Sylvie's father placed her hand in his, Bobby looked over to him and nodded, trying to convey his thanks for the trust he was placing in him. To know that he was lucky enough to get this second chance at happiness was everything that he had ever wanted. Holding tight to Sylvie's hand, he studied her face and suddenly everyone else disappeared. They may as well have been anywhere in the world, all that mattered was that they were together and they were beginning a further life together. She was his everything and he wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of his life with her. It didn't have to mean marriage, no, but now everyone got to see them promise their lives to each other.
Once the officiant stood up, ready to begin the wedding ceremony, Bobby felt the beginning of butterflies in his stomach. Even with Dakota's flaming red hair at his side and the knowledge that this was all he wanted, he was scared that it would all go wrong again. This time, he had prepared his vows, worried that they may never quite do justice to just how much he loved Sylvie, they may not have been traditional but Bobby could not come up with the words to express just what Sylvie meant to him or everything that he felt for her. All he knew was that he wanted her to be by his side forever, to be there for his daughters and to love him unconditionally. He felt ready this time, he knew this was the start of forever.
So he cleared his throat and, with the eyes of the whole audience on him, he spoke clearly, directly to Sylvie who was almost his wife now, at last. "Each morning, as I wake up and look at you, I can barely believe that I have you by my side for yet another day. I love your smile and how it lights up your eyes, I love how you know me better than I know myself and I love how you accepted me, even when I didn't want to accept myself. I hope against hope that I am and will always remain worthy of that constant love and protection, that hope and vitality. I promise to always try my hardest to love and cherish you, to look after you when you need me and provide a shoulder to cry on when it all gets to be too much. I promise to listen and to respect you, to share everything with you and to remember just how much you have done for me. Marriage doesn't have to signify any change but, to me, it signifies what we are to each other - we are eternal, we are love and we are the future. There's a crazy world out there, one that I still don't fully understand filled with experiences I don't know how to deal with but I know that with you by my side I will be brave enough to face anything. And I promise that when we're old and gray, I will hold onto you just as tightly as I did today and remember how amazing I feel now that I know I get to call myself your husband, that I am the only one privileged enough to have earned that right. I truly believe that we can grow and develop but I also know that will only bring me closer to you and closer to your love."
Stepping back, he smiled at her a little, embarrassed to feel tears welling up and still wishing words could convey just how much love filled his heart.
The Clouds Are Falling Around Me || Bobby and Sylvie
Sylvie had no idea what to think. Some girls spent their entire lives searching for their soulmate and waiting for their wedding day - years of dreams and pining boiled down to a single day. A single promise to spend forever together. She never saw herself carrying the bride gene, because really, she never saw herself being able to spend forever with someone. The universe had a wonderful way of working things out because here she was, waking up on her wedding day, the beginning of a new chapter in her life she didn’t plan meticulously.
The notion of marriage is unpredictable, volatile and irrational. There was no way for her to plan or foresee the exact turn out of it - as she was so used to when it came to things like her career. There were simply too many variables, and predicting human behavior was just not possible. Yet, this spontaneous, crazy and gorgeous designer had found a little crevice in her heart and thrived. Not being able to foresee Bobby’s arrival, was the best oversight she had experienced. Brushes, powder, glue and what looked like fishing line for one of her bridesmaids, the bridal party was in full swing. She had sent Immy off to check on her husband to be, hoping that he may just be as frazzled as she is. If anything, she enjoyed the chaos that was getting ready - it distracted her from what actually came next. Growing up she had to be perfect - the perfect trophy daughter with the perfect family and the perfect life. She had never felt that she was perfect, but today, looking into the mirror, she knew she was the most beautiful woman in the world. She was the best she could be, and she knows that when she walked down the aisle today - presumably for the first and last time, all the dreams that she didn’t even know she had, would come true.
Looking around the Grand Ballroom of Gotham Hall, Bobby thought he was in paradise. There were over 250 guests coming to watch them, mostly fashion types he felt compelled to invite but the truly important ones were all going to be there as well. They wanted to wish him good luck on this next chapter of his life and that was the most important thing. Aby and Nev were decked out with their hair curled down their backs, lace covering their arms which were covered with a beautiful shawl. They both seemed in awe as they walked down the aisle with their father, staring at the high ceiling and at the flowing curtains that surrounded the room. The entire hall was theirs for the day and Bobby was looking forward to the more private reception in the Oak Room. This was the grand wedding he was expected to have, it was the intimate gathering later on that he wanted to have, that felt like he had designed.
Finally the ballroom was filling up, New York's elite and various members of the fashion nobility were there, taking their seats, glancing around the space with what appeared to be acceptance, this was what they expected. Bobby may have been covered in tattoos and not exactly the sort of thing they had wanted to take into their ranks but he was still one of them, at least right now he was.
Aby and Nev went to the other end of the aisle from him, carrying little baskets full of petals to throw. Immy sat in the front row, along with the rest of his sisters and his mother. Even Bobby's father had wished him good luck, had apologised for not being around. It wasn't anything to Bobby now, his father was going to be away for a very long time paying back his debts, it was only fair he missed out on the good times after he had taken away his son's childhood.
And then she was there, standing at the other end of the aisle. Bobby's mouth gaped as he saw his fiancée, her dress, her hair, her make-up. She was beautiful, of course he had always known she was but right now, right here, she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. All he wanted was her in his arms, was to be able to call her his wife and say they would be together forever. As she began to make her way up the aisle, he wasn't sure that he would be able to last as long as the wait was. He wanted her there, that instant, wanted to be able to say how much he loved her. The gathered assembly of guests, both wanted and needed, stared at her with almost as much awe as Bobby but he wasn't looking at them, didn't care about them, all that mattered was that she was his. Bobby finally got to say he won after all.
The Clouds Are Falling Around Me || Bobby and Sylvie
It began warm on the day that everything changed. Bobby woke up feeling calm for the first time in years, safe in the knowledge that, by that evening, he was going to be the happiest man alive. Slowly pulling himself out of bed, he waited for Frodo and Bilbo to knock him back down and cuddled them close, wishing he could have five extra minutes to appreciate just what today would bring but that was never going to happen, of course it wasn't. Sylvie was gone, off getting ready, he doubted that there was going to be any way of seeing her before the grand reveal so he didn't even try and think where Immy would have dragged her. Instead, he looked up to find his sister with a soft smile on her face, glancing at him with far too much emotion considering she was supposed to be the evil witch kid.
"She looks stunning," is all she said as she entered the room, holding out a hand to help her brother up and forcing the dogs out the room. After her came their mother, carrying a bag with Bobby's suit in it. "You're going to look very dapper too, of course," Immy promised before turning around and running off. Apparently she needed to make sure hair and make up was in the right place, Immy needed hers done apparently, despite the fact she seemed to usually know what she was doing.
Cautiously, Bobby ran a hand through his own hair and grinned at his mother who had brought his daughters in to see him. Cuddling them, he noticed that they were already in their formalwear and he smiled at that. Eventually though, he was left alone and had to get ready. It felt weird going through the motions properly rather than that day with Sophia. Yes, it was also weird that she had been invited, whether she would turn up or not was a different matter. Bobby hadn't cared about her for years beyond their daughters. Now was the culmination of what Bobby had been searching for for years. He got Sylvie for life, that was worth everything else he had been through.
Finally he was ready to set off, he was in a car with his mother and daughters, holding the girls' hands tightly as they left their home for the venue at last. Once they reached it, Bobby ran inside and up to the top of the aisle. There stood Dakota, his best woman, Reina was pride of place too, there were so many people he loved around actually. Perhaps it was telling that this time they were there to support him. This time, he promised to do it right.
