After the bonfire bash she felt a bit unfocused letting herself fall back into some past actions, so lately she had been trying to refocus on her life. Taking several jobs that took her out of New York, it had been nice to get out of town especially with Gossip Girl once again focused on all of them. She had just been dropped off in front of her penthouse with two large suitcase. Hoping to do it herself but quickly both ended up on the ground. “Really?

                     “Do you want some help?” Carter asked as he felt bad, watching the blonde struggle with the large bags that were no doubt heavy. “I can’t believe that cab driver just left you and didn’t even help you with your bags, terrible service in New York these days.”

“Right. If I did that, would you have been able to not-so-humbly brag? You should be thanking me.” Her eyeroll was very much a joke, because the best and only part of coming home for the summer was going to be her brothers. “I wanted it to be a surprise,” she said quietly, shrug of her shoulders. “You been keeping your head above water?”

                     “How do you always know what I want before I do?” He laughed and pulled her into a hug. The Baizen siblings back together finally. It felt good. “Yeah I’m doing okay, but what about you?”

When dancing and drinking for the good of your own soul rather than underneath the pressures of peers, Effy preferred to go at it alone. Everyone she’d ever met must’ve been only yards away. This is how Effy made her debut back to Hamptons and friends, aloof and without a single hello. The important few wouldn’t care, if they still existed.

                    “Elizabeth Baizen.” Carter pulled out the big brother voice with a smile as he approached the dancing girl. “How dare you not tell me, your most loving and handsome older brother, that you were home?”

           ‘    LADY IS HAVING BABIES!!     ‘      kylie shrieked into the phone while in line for her coffee,   practically hopping up and down on her heels.       ‘    i have no idea who the father is,    but it’s definitely not theo ‘cause we had him castrated years back.      BUT SHE’S HAVING KITTIES!     i’m gonna be a granny!     ‘

                        On a normal day, he wouldn’t really care care if some trust fund brat was screeching on the phone about whatever the hell was going on, but his head already felt like it was being split open, and the girl’s shrieking was not helping. He watched as she teetered in her heels - thankful his sunglasses did the double duty of cutting the glare from the lights and hiding the fact that he was staring - before purposely speaking loud enough for her to hear him.

              ‘   I’d probably kill someone for some peace and quiet right now.   ’

                  I am shocked and appalled you would say something so ugly to my own face, Carter. None taken, I’d rather die than suffer anything else than five star. Speaking of, how ever did you survive during that little “backpacking” skit?

                          I really pity you, man. I had some of the most amazing and genuine experiences on that trip, once I saw that money couldn’t make me happy. Happiness was crashing in a hostel dorm with ten other people and eating as much street food as I could find, and it was good because it was real.

                 ‘      you’re bordering greasy-hobo look,   lay off the products for 2 to 5 days.      ‘

                         What can I say, I’m a giver. Ooooh, that’s tough. I feel the love on a sky-writing level but an Instagram post is easier to send to my Mom next time she tells me I need a haircut.
