emily lawry started out her career working in public relations for a well-known north american polo company. this also led to an ill-advised affair with one of the polo players that ended abruptly when he confessed to her he was in love with her. instead of letting him down easily, em up and quit her job and left the country. it's fine. everything is fine. (everything was Not™ fine - and will be even less fine when he shows back up in her life to make her at the very least answer for her disappearance...)

nik kovac is many things, especially meek and easily-stressed. his best friend and roommate, nigel, is the opposite in every way; nigel is outgoing, flirtatious, and a Mom Friend™ extraordinaire. these two might seem like a completely unbalanced pair, but nigel has been a much-needed source of support and encouragement in nik's life and also has the crush to end all crushes, but they both just pretend that's not true, because they both know nik doesn't feel the same way. for that reason, we'd love to see him in play on-site! please note that things like nigel's personality and backstory are quite set in stone, but for somebody interested in this dynamic, we promise it's the kind of friendship anyone would be lucky to have!
