I've been putting it off for ages, but there's no denying that my littles are too big to be in diapers or be carried around. Soooo... I have to face it. I'm starting to organize a big de-stashing of beautiful cloth (organic cotton, bamboo, velour in the cutest fabric designs ever) diapers, woolies, pants that fit over cloth diapers, and a sweet custom-knitted hearts and rainbows cardigan -- all made lovingly at home, by hand, by work-at-home mamas. Not pictured are some carriers (a Tula, a custom-made half-buckle from Madame Googoo, a gorgeous rainbow 🌈 Girasol ring sling). 💞😭💞Time to pass them on to the next handmade and cloth-loving mamas and babies. GURU PŪRNIMĀ and MOON DAY — MOON DAY SATURDAY JULY 8 & GURU PŪRṆIMĀ Saturday July 8 is Guru Pūrnimā, the day on which we pay our deepest respects and receive the blessings of the Guru many fold more than usual. This particular full moon (Sunday in India) marks Guru Pūrṇimā, the day that students and spiritual seekers pay respects to their gurus, those who are responsible for leading them to the true knowledge of yoga. Guru Pūrṇimā falls on the full moon day in the Hindu month of Āṣāḍha, which takes place in June and July. Not by chance, founder of the Aṣṭāṅga yoga tradition, Śrī K Pattabhi Jois was born on Guru Pūrnimā in 1915. The schedule on Monday July 3rd will remain as usual (6am-10.30am Mysore and 5.30pm-7.30pm Mysore). GURU PURNIMA - SATURDAY JULY 8. The next moon day at Jois Encinitas is on Saturday July 8th. It is the Full Moon in Āṣāḍha commonly known as Gurū Pūrṇimā, the day that the Guru is traditionally worshipped. It is also believed the power of the Guru to transform his students is magnified many times on this special day. It is also known as Vyāsa Pūrṇimā as the ancient Indian sage Veda Vyasa was born on this day, scribe of the Mahābhārata and the one who collated the vedas, India’s ancient source of spiritual knowledge. Our own Ṣrī K Pattabhi Jois was born on Guru Pūrṇimā in 1915. Guru to so many thousands of yoga students and instrumental in keeping traditional yoga alive through his spreading of Aṣṭāṅga Yoga around the globe.
