Julie Kane

With some trepidation, Julie took her usual seat under Kane's watchful eye and watched as a holoscreen appeared. Before her were snapshots of the Burners and their cars in Motorcity. Already, feelings of dread began to creep through her.

Kane spoke: "I was having a look at this footage from one of my drones the other day when I noticed something quite interesting."

Julie gripped the armrests of her chair when the screen zoomed in on a snapshot of 9Lives, revealing the driver inside. "Dad, I—"

But Kane interrupted. "Spying on the Burners by pretending to be one of their own? This is brilliant! Extremely dangerous and I don't approve of it all," he added sternly. "But brilliant! This is how we're going to catch those Burner rats once and for all."

"Right, haha, yeah..." Oh no. Ohhh no no no. Julie's heart pounded in her chest and her blood ran ice cold through her veins. But maybe there was a way she could work with this. Kane still trusted her, or at the very least, refused to accept she was on the Burners' side. It could be worse—he could have decided to punish her instead.

As Julie's mind raced, a pair of metal shackles latched suddenly around her wrists. She gasped with a start and squirmed to free herself but her movement was soon restricted when a metal arm rose from the back of her chair with a cuff that clamped around the crown of her head.

Slowly, Kane turned from the screen to look at her with a small metallic device in his hand, round and flat on one side with thin needle-like protrusions. "I've been working on some new technology I think will make things a whole lot easier. And I'd like you to do the honors."

Julie stared in horror. She thought she'd imagined all the ways her father might punish her for what she had done, but this was not what she expected. "Wait! Dad, no! You can't! This isn't, ngh... right!"

However, Kane was resolute. "I decide what's right and what isn't."

Try as she might to break free, Julie could not escape her binds. As the device was attached to the back of her neck, her struggle ended and her body felt weak and her mind blank. On a new holoscreen, the word OBEY appeared and Kane adjusted the levels to a higher setting. Julie was then released and she stood up straight, eyes forward, hand raised in a KaneCo salute like a cadet ready to serve.

She was still the same Julie, just... different.

[ooc: For Halloween, Julie will be undergoing a forced alignment switch. She will be trying to capture the Burners and other persons deemed "suspicious". She may also try to attach a KaneCo OBEY device to some characters. However, the technology is new and still buggy so the effects it has may vary. It's also possible to interfere or mess with Julie's device if your character can find it. All rps with alignment switched Julie will be considered a divergent timeline unless otherwise stated
