Like yeah sweet fairytale happy eneding is cool but what about unhealthy bonding and coping mechanisms and the grief of never knowing who you could of been or what relationship you could have had if all these horrible tragedies that bounded you together for eternity didn’t occur. Tristepin makes his kids compete for his affection in the most literal sense, meaning he holds contests and makes them physically fight each other. Ruel has tried to profit off of this, and briefly managed to strike up a “kid fighting” ring with betting (Evangelyne found out and shut it down)
