this is a reminder for myself to elaborate on a really hot-cold take tomorrow as I’m dead tired rn but as far as we’re concerned:
merchants and citizens offer praise alike of the lady officer of Durs, a certain vastaya that walks the earth with incredible kindness in one hand and matching patience in the other, an older mother figure that lives gracefully on the outset of town, which tends to be an unnoticed destination for all the curious and opportunity - seeking vastaya that arrive to ring her door’s knocker at sunset in the hopes that they too might be blessed with a chance to speak with this lady of Durs, share amusing stories over tea, remember the good old days of wild magic, and perhaps confide with her the various worries and ever - creeping trepidation over the rate of Ionian harvesting / managing of wild magic that threatens the future of every vastayan guest that walks in through her front door.
Ane herself is no stranger to the complexities of the wild magic conundrum that modern day Ionians are usually unaware of, but while she is fond of most younger vastaya that seek her out, it is somewhat likely that Ane may hesitate and instead provide under - the - table / indirect support to Xayah and Rakan if they were to visit and explain their mission. However, it is very likely that Ane would flip her stance and straightaway BAN the two revolutionaries from the town of Durs altogether if they were to persist in asking that she permit pro - vastaya movements within the city or moreso, that she commit herself publicly to the cause, implying that she alter the careful neutrality that Durs has enjoyed for years.
she has worked long and hard over a decade to help raise a town that would bring peaceful days for her son, and even if there is a pro - vastaya movement that seeks to bring back the ionian native race to is former glory, Ane will take the side of her town over her own race if that means she gets to keep the town of Durs out of war and revolution for just one more day.
