A MARVELOUS ORDER

Mannahatta premiering at @BAM_Brooklyn #BAMNextWave   #21cLiederabend. 

Josh's first animation studies for this opera were presented at the BAM Harvey Theater, alongside the premiere of a new piece of music by Judd set to Walt Whitman's poem Mannahatta. DM Stith and the Trinity Wall Street Choir sang the vocals.

The song is the first section of a three-part cycle that Judd is writing, titled My City, commissioned by the Orchestra Engagement Lab, Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Waterbury Symphony Orchestra.

A pic from last night's performance of PLAN OF THE CITY with music performed live by @NOWEnsemble at the Brookfield Place Winter Garden in lower Manhattan. When the film is performed live the musicians do not use a click-track; instead we edit the film live in order to keep it in perfect sync with the music. This gives the musicians the freedom they need to give the best possible performance.

We recently attended the Sundance New Frontier Story Lab. They asked each project to create a gif for their project, so we made this. It's a teaser, of sorts. Surveyors look into their lens and see the future. This gif also shares some DNA with Man With A Movie Camera.
