It’s kinda crazy how as someone with a severe phobia of needles I am able to be there for my bf while he does his T shot. Like I still get rly anxious but I’m not freaking out and I’m able to keep it in check enough to support him thru it. It’s actually kinda really nice? It’s almost like a form of exposure therapy. I think I’m able to do it bc A) I really trust him and I know there’s no way he’d ever try and come after me with the sharp and B) because a good portion of my energy and focus is being redirected into making sure he’s doing ok because he always rly struggles with doing his shot. So it gives me a positive outlet for all the panic that rises up in me whenever I see it. It’s actually kinda therapeutic.
