Anyway, the next night we watched a thing about some pig man who is supposed to live in Vermont. People said it had claws and a pig nose but walked upright like a man. Now, I happen to know that sideshows used to shave bears and present them as pig men. So every piece of evidence they gave of this monster sounds to me like a bear with mange.

So now the running joke in our house is that everything is bears. Aliens? Bears. Loch Ness monster? Bear. Every cryptozoological mystery is just a very crafty bear.

Maybe some of you are in a place where you need to hear these things. Trust me, it does turn out okay. 💛

Summary:

Zenos and Fandaniel rip the Warrior of Light's soul from his body and shove it into the body of a thin, starving imperial. The Warrior is made to race against time while Zenos controls the Warrior's body, threatening to ambush his friends at Camp Broken Glass.

Before the Warrior can even process the trauma he has just experienced, the Scions want to send him back into the fray.

“My body was taken from me. Violated by that bastard. My very soul isn’t safe...I haven’t been back in my body more than a minute and you want me to slay another primal for you?!”

Canon and canon divergence for the Endwalker quest, "In from the Cold." Spoilers for 6.0.

Notes:

This has been sitting in my WIPs for nearly four years. The Endwalker quest "In from the Cold" was one of the most intense and emotional playthroughs I have experienced in a video game, and I knew I had to write about it. It was hard to do it justice, all the emotions I felt and my WoL felt, which is why it took so long. But I knew I had to finish it before we got TWO expansions removed from these events.

The first half of this piece largely follows the canon of the quest from my WoL's perspective. The second half of this piece is where my WoL significantly diverges from canon.
