Like people make fun of middle aged women for not getting married or being divorced or "always the bridesmaid never the bride" and all like "oh she's desperate! No one wants her! Old maid!' but they become straight up hostile and upset when you tell them you never want to date.

But in dissecting the shameful medical apartheid, and important cause is usually neglected: the history of ethically flawed medical experimentation with African Americans. Such research has played a pivotal role in forging the fear of medicine that helps perpetuate our nation's racial health gulf. Historically, African Americans have been subjected to exploitative, abusive involuntary experimentation at a rate far higher than other ethnic groups.

Thus, although the heightened African American wariness of medical research and institutions reflects a situational hypervigilance, it is neither a baseless fear of harm nor a fear of imaginary harms. A "paranoid" label is often affixed to Blacks who are wary of participating in medical research.

However, not only is paranoid a misnomer but it is also symbolic of a dangerous misunderstanding. That is why I refer to African American fears of medical professionals and institutions as iatrophobia, coined from the Greek word iatros ("healer") and phobia ("fear"). Black iatrophobia is the fear of medicine."

On the one hand, she would fully support me doing this because she is a lover of the arts and of Black women doing well by the community. She's an anime girl, she knows about Black rep!

If YOU use any RPG Maker engines or are considering using one, YOU should let them know that we don't want decades of RPG Maker support and history taken down. gatekeeping is so effective because it allows the people in charge of it to frame it as a passive and natural force. "ah well, you just don't meet our criteria because of some technicalities, it's not that we are screening specifically for Your Kind Of Person, you understand, it's just that all the requirements coincidentally happen to produce a result where Your Kind Of Person is unable to enter our walled city :) so i think you'll see that we are not discriminating!"

i think a LOT less people understand how much gatekeeping impacts their lives than are impacted by gatekeeping. if you were ever prevented from participating in something bc of your inability to meet technical requirements for reasons outside of your control, that is gatekeeoing. if you ever decided to not even fucking try because you understood that the walled city wasn't for People Like You, that is the natural and intended outcome of gatekeeping.

Two separate clips from two different 2019 livestreams of Michael Kovach (Jax's voice actor) and Ashley Nichols (Zooble's voice actor) resurfaced of them laughing and attempting to say "negative" in half which sounded like N-slur. In one of the chats of these streams, the creator Gooseworx typed it and encouraged them. All parties are white and were already grown adults at time.

Both apologized. It's reported that Gooseworx reacted horribly (She might have deleted her response since I can't find it.). One of their colleague Alex Rochen (Caine's voice actor) only vagueposted about the situation by resharing a post to his Bluesky that's "it's hard to call out longtime friends."

Also, the rest of the main voice cast have been quiet about the racism and most of them, in the past, collaborated with a music producer: Black Gryph0n, who is an alleged known groomer, (Met his wife when she was 14-15 and he was 20.) Marissa Lenti (Gangle's voice actor) is the only one currently who addressed the collaboration, but is silent about the racism.

So outside of the fandom's racist human portrayals, that happened.

So, what are y'all as the fans gonna do?

Are y'all gonna move a la the Parry Hotter fans, where you claim that you're "reclaiming" the characters from the creator? While still supporting the IP? Because "I just have such a history and connection with these characters"?

Are y'all gonna stop supporting altogether? At least until amends and reparations towards Black fans are offered and delivered? Is this where the line got crossed, no matter what? I say this because I feel like if this is what got dropped in 2019, there's probably a lot more going on that has been overlooked?

I guess it's time to see what happens, if overt antiblackness and grooming are enough to sacrifice entertainment. Let me clarify, if being exposed for being antiblack is enough to sacrifice entertainment. Because while I'm saying these things as if the choice is easy, you would not believe how many people would forgive this situation and fight to the death if these folks dropped a tearful half-apology to white viewership. White solidarity is a powerful son of a bitch!

The ones that don't experience medical violence then, likely experience it as a teenager.

I didn't.

I am very rare in that I did not experience medical violence.

Why? Because I learned what intersexuality was as a young age, and I actively fought against what doctors wanted to do to me. All the way down to legal research on what medical care minors can be forced into. I remember walking into that doctor's appointment with the state law written down that proved that if I did not consent they could not do surgery.
