Barbara Roberts is a girl boss, to put it simply. She has worked for it and doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon. Whatever her dream is she will do anything she can to achieve it, once her mind is set on something it's nearly impossible to stop her. Even though she knows she doesn't have to keep one upping herself she can't help it. In reality she gets bored with the same old thing, wanting to challenge her to do more and do it better than ever before. There is always something new to learn or try and she's just the one to do it. Barbie wants to not only be successful but she wants to make a difference in girl's lives. Her passion truly lies with empowering women to be unapologetically themselves. As she always says: you can be anything.
Even though she didn't show it growing up Barbie was quite insecure. She never thought she was good enough in comparison to her parents, following in their footsteps seemed like big ones. It's one of the reasons it took her this long to study fashion herself. She finally feels ready.
Ken, one of the most confusing things in her life. She knows she loves him but her fear of tying herself down keeps her from fully committing. A part of her is afraid once she does work will start to slip, so she's always kept a little distance between them that she knows she shouldn't.
If she could have a perfect world she'd open up a safe haven for animals that don't have homes. Animal rights is another thing she is very passionate about, making sure to never have any animal testing or animal products in her cosmetics. There's still time, maybe she can achieve this one by the time she's forty.
Growing up she had a rough relationship with her mother but as she's gotten older she's been able to not always listen to her. Barbie's mother having very specific goals for her daughter which include taking over the family business one day. Now Barbie is able to not always take it so to heart when she doesn't like an outfit or a skincare product she makes. Though she does want her parents approval she knows it isn't everything now.
People have frequently called her stupid and undermine her for being a woman. It's one of the things that fuels her. Barbie wants to show them all how wrong they are and all that a girl can really be capable of, stiletto heels and all.
Sometimes she thinks about moving away from the city and finding a small slice of the world just for her. She'd have a house with a garden and a barn, Ken would be there too, but she knows it's outlandish. Her whole life is in the city, they aren't people who live in the middle of a grassy field, but sometimes she wishes they could be. As much as she loves her life, Barbie has a small lingering dream of a life that could be simple.
