1. FlowĀ - pomodoro timer for my laptop, super helpful (alternatively just use a study with me video)
2. Notion - v helpful for organization + so pretty!!Ā
3. Habitica - stopped using this after notion tbh but its still v fun, uses reward & punishment to get your productivity going!!Ā
4. GoogleĀ CalendarĀ - OG!!! use it to plan out ur dayĀ
5. Google Drive - if you donāt use google drive how do u even liveā¦ its been super helpful w college essays bc my sister can keep giving me feedback w/o making 23672848 different docs. (excuse the image my drive is UGLY & unorganized)
6. Audible - audio! books! are! the! shit!!!!!!! kinda hate supporting amazon but honestly havenāt been able to find any good alternatives. if u know pls share!! (also just a heads up - indistractable is kinda sh*t so far)Ā
7. Zombie Run - its a fitness app that will give u cues during ur run that zombies are chasing u so youāve got to sprint. idk how to describe it and i donāt have a photo of it rn (& i technically havent used it yet) but my sister loves it and i plan on trying it out today!

Iām gonna try to explain my point through examples.
Ex 1: toddler screaming and crying in the walmart
Punishment: Iām going to spank you or embarrass you or yell at you! Shut up! Iāll give you something to cry about!
Discipline: stop doing what youāre doing because it isnāt productive and it disturbs others as well as increasing your own upsetnes. Iām going to take you out of the environment thatās upsetting you until youāre calm and we can identify what upset you together so I can explain to you why itās like that/help you find ways to productively express upsetness as you grow.
Ex 2: your teen is failing, like, all their classes
Punishment: youāre grounded! Youāre not allowed to go out with your friends or play games or do anything fun or enjoyable until your work is satisfactory!
Discipline: itās important to do well in school. You need to communicate with me when you are struggling so I can help you. You also need to learn to manage fun stuff and work as thatās an important life skill in adulthood. Iām going to monitor your work more closely so I can help you find that balance. And if this is a deeper mental or emotional issue, we can seek help for you together.
So basically, discipline is something you teach that requires time, communication, and sternness. Punishment is a single action meant to deliberately cause discomfort in an attempt to implement negative reinforcement. Not good.

i really apologize for my absence in posting ā school has been a lot lately. ap literature and ap macro are by far my toughest classes but iām getting by. i recently finished āsix of crowsā and started on ācrooked kingdomā and i am absolutely in love! the characters are amazing and the writing is just perfect!
