hello! my name is lyra (leer-ah), and I like making lists of names and words that tickle my fancy. on this blog, you can find inspiration for character names, place names, names for real life, and pretty much anything else you can derive from a word or a root. lists will be tagged according to theme and purpose.

I hope it's alright to request this -- no pressure if not! But I have a pretty bad speech impediment, and I'm searching for names that I can actually pronounce. There are plenty of short names that are pronounceable for me, but I'm looking for slightly longer ones.

Sounds I have trouble with: R, unless it's the first letter; S and L, and most consonant combinations (mainly involving those letters, such as kr, tr, sl, rd, br, etc.).

I can do th and sh most of the time.

I'll always love Wolfram, because who wouldn't love a name that just means wolf raven? But Urraca/Oreca are my favorites. They were popular medieval Spanish names that meant magpie, having come from the Latin word furax, meaning "thieving."
