Missed a few Roevember days due to some GOOD NEWS and generally just being a little busy over the weekend, but we are back!

Jagged enjoys wearing his hair in one of two ways: The first being detailed and intricate braiding. The second being merely a free-flowing, “let his hair down”-look (normally wavy and perhaps slightly unkempt). It largely depends on his mood and perhaps what he plans on spending his day doing.

If it means power, Jagged will do whatever necessary to obtain it. Including, but not limited to, enchanting special paints imbued with crystal, bone, gems, and the like and marking his body.

ROEVEMBER POST.

Jagged Honesty will often adorn himself in enchanted jewelry, usually rings, or unearthed--and refinished--relics and other magicked items in order to help channel his magicks. The stone affixed to his head--which is generally there 100% of the time--allows him to commune with beasts.

Jagged will also affix crystals or other items to his staves and gloves to create extra areas of focus, in-case he is unable to use a weapon.

More Jagged lore for Roevember!

Being from a seafaring village, Jagged Honesty is no stranger to the high seas. Likewise, being from a village well-versed in plundering for treasure, he is also no stranger to dusty old dungeons. For ease of explanation, he often introduces himself as merely an adventurer, so as not to be labeled with any such stigma that comes with being labeled as a Pirate or even a Thief or Rogue. Though, if asked, he is rather ambiguous about his morals about taking from another. He can often be found in dungeons, running alongside other Adventurers and Treasure Hunters. Though his intentions for treasure are mostly personal and not necessarily to make coin, there is no denying that he cannot quite resist the sound of rustling coin and the glitter of gold.

Whenever he is not hunting for relics, Jagged makes some sort of living as a healer for hire. Though he appears much more nomadic, he does truly hope to own something of a clinic some day.

The Paladin of Rhalgr - Rhalgr’s Will.

“With this blade, with this shield, with my flesh, blood, bone and soul, I will protect my friends, my loved ones, and the people of Gyr Abania who cannot protect themselves. I do so in the name of the Destroyer, as a Paladin of Rhalgr.”

So goes the oath of a Paladin of Rhalgr. This oath becomes the conduit of the Paladin’s power, the focal point through which many of their abilities are amplified and exercised. Many of these abilities require a strong body, a sound mind and a steady soul. At the same time, the Paladin must be able to endure the relentless onslaught of foes if needed. The demand placed upon them is by no means a small one.

This is where the Paladin’s faith proves to be the connection between oath and action. The belief in the Destroyer and His will is declared in word, deed, or both. It can be a spoken prayer, a gesture, or simply a presentation of sigils or geometry upon one’s garments and attire – though the first two tend to be more effective in conveying faith. The Paladin acknowledges that everything they do through their oath, they do in accordance with Rhalgr’s will. This belief interacts with both the crystal and the oath itself and provides a holy strength and fervor that prepares them to push past their physical and spiritual limits.

Such holy resolve, however, is often noticed by many who would harm those under a Paladin’s charge. It may mean that every swing of the sword and bash of the shield will incur more ire, more violence. This is a favourable result, for if a foe wishes to do harm to Rhalgr’s faithful, it is the Paladin they must answer to. Naturally this is not something anyone can simply pick up and do. It requires a great deal of physical and spiritual training – as well as the faith to see it through.

Jagged has a brother who was taught thaumaturgy, while he was mainly taught conjury and healing arts. He picked up a fair amount of knowledge from his lessons, however, and has a decent grasp on the more destructive art. His mother, a fierce warrior and once of the Maelstrom, taught him the axe.

He is no stranger to fighting, but prefers to take a backseat to violence. As a member of the chief’s family, Jagged Honesty--despite being the younger heir--was next in line to succeed his father. However his brother had other plans for the village and it’s denizens...

For Roevember, I am also going to flesh out Jagged’s Backstory with the screenshots of such being the central theme.

Jagged is from a village located on an island in the Rhotano Sea. A seafaring village, filled with sailors, fishers and treasure hunters. He was the son of the chief. His role as the chief’s son led meant that he would often lead the village on expeditions, usually by sea. Jagged has always been fed lines pertaining to his “destiny” and has ever had a strong connection to magic, aether, and beasts, which has led him to become an expert tamer.

Jagged’s family also safeguarded many relics deemed to be unsafe, or of precious value. Some relics were used in special ceremonies, like burials and marriages.
