so, my town has 6.5k people in it. the town has been delinquent in payment to the county's emergency services during peak wildfire season. hundreds of thousands of dollars, all while the police station gets a budget increase.

there is no ER or hospital here. there is only 1 certified paramedic within town limits and only 4 volunteer firefighters who live in district.

fire insurance premiums have skyrocketed for businesses and home fire insurance is getting revoked due to the risk of wildfires.

on top of that, most people who work in town are either in crippled small businesses or working at the corporations that own this town.

if they pull out, we won't have access to food because this town's 400+ acres of farmable land is incorporated under a ranch known for corruption.

there's supposed to be a town hall this week to discuss "policies", but the public aren't allowed to attend while a bunch of corrupt people decide their fates without them and getting paid to do so.

local government is a direct reflection of what's happening on a national scale.
