DEATH; BECOMES

        it feels like she’s           breathing in glass  .  her lungs ache and the process does little to satiate her brain’s need for oxygen  .  still  ,  she tries to help keep everyone together  .  clarke hides it the best she can  ,  waves off worried glances and concerned tones  .  anyone with eyes willing to look at her can tell that something’s wrong though  ,  even if they aren’t guessing how bad it is  .  she touches lizzie’s shoulder with a smile  ,  “  take my portion  ,  ”  she holds out her rations with a hand she can barely keep from shaking  .  “  you need it more than i do  .  ”  she wouldn’t be able to keep it down anyway  ,  the food is wasted on her  .
