Welcome to the Spectrum City, Operators.
I am Arbiter. I am here to facilitate a successful game.
The game is to survive and witness the story of White, the twists and turns are all unknown and it up to the Operators to discover them.
The Rules are as followed::
1) The story bends to the will of the many.
2) Operators may only directly influence the current Player.
3) Death of the Player means death of the Operators.
4) The Game will continue so long as the Operators still live.
The following notes are available for all Operators. It is advised that all new Operators consult these to fully understand the game.
Operators: “Those who pull at my strings like a puppet. My every action your whim.”
Character: The cast of this story, each is unique. Some may become playable, some may not.
Player: The current active character. This is the only one whom the Operators can influence.
Action: An action is to act or react to an event. Some actions will cost resources. Some will not.
Mood: Each Character has their own mood, each mood might effect their responses to Operators.
Event: Events are the driving portion of the game. After actions have been made, the next step is for the Event to play out.
Codex Level: A simple value to indicate how much lore has been recorded in the Codex per topic, Codex entries are updated per the use of the Codex action although the information may be limited.
Safe: When safe, characters feel more relaxed and may be more agreeable.
Danger: Character will feel on edge, this state does not always indicate that danger will befall the group.
Combat: Characters (Player or no) are currently engaged in Combat.
Generic Actions::
These actions are staple for the game to work.
Inventory X: Check X inventory. Checking the current player's inventory is a “Free action.”
(Inventory checks are subject to each Character. Some may agree, some may disagree)
Codex X: Check the Codex about X topic. More info below.
(The Codex::
Unlike the characters, the Operators have little to no knowledge of the world and those who inhabit it. To facilitate a successful game, the “Codex” action has been granted to all Operators. At any time an Operator may choose to seek information from the Codex; this information is limited to what the current Player knows of the topic but cost no time, think of it as quickly recollecting thoughts on a topic. Operators may request information from other Characters but this action will be limited to what that Character is comfortable to disclose.)
To facilitate a successful game, the use of the action Override has been granted. This comes in two forms and has a maximum use counter. Override can only be used 3 times across the entire game.
Override Operator: Upon the activation of this action, all control of the current player is relinquished to the Arbiter; if the current operators invoke this action, it is to save the game from certain doom for this action will always attempt to force a favourable outcome. Player control is returned upon the end of the event. This action has a pre-requisite, Operators must agree to the undertaking of this action. Rule 1 is still applied.
Override Arbiter: Upon activation of this action, all control of the current event is relinquished to the Operators; this will allow for a collective change in the base storyline and temporarily create all current characters as players, allowing Operators to directly influence all involved with the current event. This action could have DIRE consequence as it could change the direction of the game and is ill advised. This action has a pre-requisite, Operators must agree to the undertaking of this action. As a unique feature of this Override, the event must be written by the Operators and approved by Arbiter. ((OOC: Approval comes in to make sure that the action falls under the lore and rules of the game.))
