Every now and then I remember that this image exists and I burst into tears
oop. crawls out of my red lotus cave
+ bonus:
These two were so cute, are we sure they're not actually siblings? Come on, look at them, how she rubs his hair, the way they throw themselves at eachother's arms, they're so happy! They're so fucking precious.

the obsession people have with bloodbending being used for healing makes no sense to me. the supposed benefits people think bloodbending can provide are already covered by healing. then theres the fact that no matter how they try to jazz it up, you are taking away someones autonomy.
i also dont get the sentiment people have towards bloodbending when they say its unfair that an ability created by a victim of oppression is criminalised. the writers did hama dirty, but in fantasy worlds, any power that gives someone the ability to enforce their will over someone elses tends to be frowned upon and regulated.
and whats funny is how the same people that say that katara was just reduced to a healer are generally the ones who say that katara should have embraced bloodbending and used it for healing. nevermind the fact that katara was forced to learn the technique against her will and was distraught after the fact. the people who say katara should’ve embraced bloodbending only wish she did so they had crumbs for their dark!katara headcanons.
It. Is. Time.

I know people will freak out from seeing Korra portrayed like that (understandably - frankly, intentionally). However, what I'm really noting here is that they said this happened "long ago" where their "ancestors weren't" prepared and "the Avatar let us down. Like apparently, we now have confirmation that there WILL be a very long timeskip between Korra's era and storyline in Seven Havens.
This seems to suggest whatever happened to Korra at that point is mostly a myth, but I guess we'll have to wait (only!) to October to find out.
This clip from the Seven Havens trailer immediately made me think of this scene from Beginnings...
A few more quick Korra relevant speculations based on the Seven Havens trailer...
Korra clearly has grey hair. It's difficult to determine if this clip actually has flashback type accuracy (probably not imo), but at least it suggests that Korra wasn't extremely young when... whatever happened ~happened. It suggest Korra would be 50-70 years old imo.
Also just the fact that it's now confirmed there's been several generations of timeskip + context of how people like Janet Varney talk about this series, it makes me consider if not only did Korra not actually turn evil and destroy the world during this "apocalypse", she might also have not even died and lived somewhere in hiding for years after. Just a total loose shot here.
A few other clues about how Korra's world developed:
These are the images shown while the voice over says the modern haven city needs to be prepared because "long ago our ancestors weren't prepared, and the Avatar let us down". The cities that seem to be experiencing the cataclysmic event already seem to have haven-like structures / the other one seems to possibly be republic city (which tbh at this point, is like, a day in the life of RC).
This suggest that it wasn't just a sudden out of nowhere event, but that the world had been adapting to changes possibly for decades (which is already the case since lok book 2). This is interesting in terms of how much Korra and her friends could have left intentional legacy imprints on the world of Seven Haven and humanity's survival.

also btw you can't tell me that's "evil korra", and not actually KORRA'S I'M GONNA KICK YOU ASS EVIL SPIRIT SMIRK.
like it literally is her normal "gonna kick your ass" smirk lmao. oh no she's always been evil. heard it on the streets! shocking.
Avatar Korra in AVATAR: SEVEN HAVENS
a quick korra sketch 🩵
Imagine being the avatar that single handedly saved the world several times and brought back the whole air bender population from the brink of extinction and some cunt still has the nerve to say "the previous avatar let us down" Korra should have ended the world sooner
Set in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm, a young Earthbender discovers she's the new Avatar after Korra. In this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity's destroyer, not its savior.

People who are already angrily saying they'll refuse to watch 7 Havens because it MIGHT portray Korra in a negative light, A) the creators love Korra, so I'm really not that worried, B) you're such pussies and C) you're sounding very similar to how toxic atla fans did when tlok came out. It must be said.
asami said she loved korra's hair like that, and then korra kept it exactly like that for the rest of her life. dare I say whipped.
