K-pop star Wonho has been cleared of all charges by Seoul police in an investigation into allegations of past drug usage.

On Friday (March 13), Starship Entertainment announced that the former Monsta X member had been cleared of all charges by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency after an investigation was launched against him last year following a series of allegations made against him.

“During the investigation, Wonho actively cooperated with the police and all investigation procedures, including scientific examinations by the investigative agencies,” reads a statement from Starship. “The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s drug investigation unit conducted extensive investigations for the past five months but was unable to find any charges. Finally, on March 10th, Wonho’s internal investigation was concluded.”

Though the singer, who is known as both Lee and Shin Ho-seok legally but has used the stage name "Wonho” for his entire career, left Monsta X and halted his career as an artist last year, Starship’s statement hints to a renewed future path for the beloved star, whose departure from Monsta X amid the investigation resulted in widespread protests from fans. “We will continue to fully support Wonho for developing his own career in the future,” said Starship. At this time, there is no clarification regarding what his “own career in the future” entails.

Wonho most recently participated in Monsta X’s English-language All About Luv LP, which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 in February.

°It’s okay to not feel okay all of your emotions are justified. Your self care comes first so do whatever is needed before you join the front lines again.

°Sleep or nap trust me you need it!

°Stick to your support group, friends, loved ones, people who will reassure you and look out for you.

°HUGS! This may be random but good hugs help.

°Comfort food, comfort clothes & comfort atmosphere surround yourself with it.

°Stay with your pets, they are therapy!

This is Wonho.

First, I would like to apologize for not being able to keep the promise that I would only provide good memories and for causing pain to fans.

Furthermore, I apologize for causing concern to many people due to my personal issues.

I have received undeserving blessings and love while promoting as a MONSTA X member. I sincerely thank you for making precious memories for me. To the members who worked hard with me and stayed with me, I would like to tell them that I’m thankful and that I love them. [I would also like to show them] my apologetic heart.

There was a time when I was immature and have made big and small mistakes, but after becoming a trainee and making my debut, I stayed on track and worked hard to avoid being ashamed of myself.

I am announcing that I am leaving MONSTA X today.

I am apologetic for causing harm to the members due to the unfortunate issues related to me. More than anything, I am sorry for disappointing my fans, who believed in me.

I have reached this decision after seeing many people having a hard time because of me.

In addition to our members, I once again sincerely bow my head in apology to the fans who have believed in me and supported me.

Please give strength to MONSTA X. The members have nothing to do with me. I carefully ask that you at least give support and encouragement to the members. They are people who are too good to stop and get hurt like this because of someone like me.
