Last Wednesday, I received a text message from my boss telling me that I MUST go to our Sales Kick Off event at The Royal Mandaya Hotel. We had to meet first with the team for a lunch meeting before going to the said event.

We had our lunch at Shakey’s (take note, madalas kami dito naglalunch meeting. Favorite ata ito ng boss namin. same place, same orders. haha )

After our lunch meeting, we headed straight to the event.

Every quarter, there’s a Sales Kick Off - it is a gathering where the top performers in Davao are being recognized and awarded.

And surprisingly, I was one of them! I really didn’t expect this to happen, since I just started in the company a month ago.

What pushed me to work hard was for the GREATER GLORY OF GOD. I thank Him for the strength and motivation I have for work, for the patience and understanding I have for my clients and for the love and care I have for my teammates. I offer this triumph to Him.

I was just doing my job, and putting my heart at it. It wasn’t really an easy job at all. I’ve dealt with a lot of different clients and I tell you, most of them were really hard to handle.

There was this one client that I will never forget. He questioned my faith and my Catholicism. He threw offensive and harsh words against my religion’s beliefs and practices. Indirectly, I knew he was trying to convince me to join them. I was with my boss and my teammate at that time. I felt like crying and wanted to answer him back. However, I couldn’t do that, he was still our client and my boss wouldn’t like that to happen. After the 30-minute agonizing sermon, we were still able to close the deal. *Whew! That was really a tough one!

It never occurred to me that I would experienced that kind of situation but as what most Christians would say, the more you build deeper relationship with the Lord, the more you are being tested. I took that incident as a test and I’m proud that I didn’t fail.

I remember a passage from a bible says: “GOLD is tested by fire and our FAITH is tested by GOD.” I know for sure that there will be more tests to come; tougher than this. But I am not afraid for I have already a strong foundation with Him.

Also, what matters to me is that God can see what’s inside my heart.

I praise God that i was able to save up for this trip. Just so you know, this was a “KKB” (kanya kanyang bayad) trip since I was already earning. Im so proud of myself. YAYYYY!! *high five*
