oh my gosh this guy

layne knew pretty early on in the relationship that he wanted to marry you

like once he knew he loved you and you loved him he became taken for life

for the proposal he wanted to do it privately

because even if he is a musician who plays concerts in large arenas he still isn’t too much of a fan of crowds

and he also doesn’t wanna put you in a uncomfortable position if crowds aren’t your thing either

layne wanted it to be perfect so he went around asking people who were closest to you like your best friend or your mom for their opinion on rings and where he should do it at

he went looking for a ring when he knew you were busy so you couldn’t call to ask where he was or if he wanted to go do something

after he got the ring he figured he should just do it 

so he took you to a national park in washington 

you had been walking for an hour or so when you guys stopped

there was this big arch made of trees and you had wanted to get a picture

when you turned around layne was on one knee

“Will you marry me? If you say no you’ll have to get home on your own” 

you said yes and layne immediately got up and kissed you 

he put the ring on your finger and for the rest of the hike he held onto your left hand so he could feel the ring

marrying him now

you two began planning right away

and it was all you would talk about 

you guys were like little kids talking about going to disney world or something 

you both were constantly throwing out ideas to each other

and the wedding was slowly but surely coming together

the day of the wedding

you both were excited

this was finally it

walking down the aisle and seeing layne so happy made you feel so special

his smile was so big and his eyes were glued to you as if he has never seen something so beautiful before

you had tears in your eyes and a smile on your face when you walked up to layne

he instantly grabbed your hands and held on like this was the last time he would ever see you

you both locked eye contact and would laugh at each other for no specific reason other than the fact that you both are just happy

when the ceremony was over you both walked down the aisle and when you were in private layne kept repeating “i can’t believe i’m married to you”   

for the reception you and layne would keep looking at each other and at times he would give you a wink

there were times where he would be holding your hand and would walk up to groups of people that you both haven’t greeted yet and would say something like “ladies and gentlemen my beautiful bride” and would gesture to you

he was interested in you from the moment he saw you 

but then when he talked to you and found out you were in a band

girl that was just the cherry on top of the cake 

not only were you drop dead gorgeous 

you also were deeply invested in music just like him

like shit that just made you perfect in his eyes

and he knew he’d be dumb if he didn’t ask you out

so... he did.

he supported you 100,000,000%

especially after finding out youre in a riot grrrl band

and learning about everything you guys stood for 

kurt himself is a feminist 

believes men and women should be equal

yk all that jazz

you being in a band that goes against the standards really inspired him

he was attracted to your non conformist lifestyle/ artistry  

now he tries his hardest to come to every show 

and he did for the most part

up until nirvana really took off

but when that happened he was constantly promoting your band 

yk telling his fans to go check out your band

or casually naming your bands songs as some of his favorites in interviews 

stuff like that

even had your band open for nirvana a couple times

he would ask for your opinion on songs

depends on what you do in your band but

if you play guitar he will ask for your help to come up with riffs

you play drums he’ll ask you to play in the background of a demo recording 

if you sing yall will be singing a damn duet

writing lyrics together 

he likes to help write material for your band

and even if he isnt helping you write a song he still enjoys watching you write a song

because you are so focused and he can really see how passionate you are about music

as i said before your band really inspired him in many ways

going against standards 

doing your own thing, yk?

it also really opened his eyes to more things happening the world 

he’d ask you to explain to him everything that you stand for 

so he can get a better understanding of your band and the songs meanings

he wanted to be educated on things you were passionate about 

KURT IS A PROUD BOYFRIEND

when he sees you on stage he is just in awe

he cant take his eyes off of you 

is 100% jamming out and singing along with the rest of the crowd

it’s kind of like a “that’s my girlfriend” moment 

where he’s telling everyone that while pointing at you up on stage

he had gotten so deep into the meaning behind riot grrrl that anytime someone would ask him about you and your band he would easily be able to slip into the roots and why it became what it is

now

strong headed about your beliefs 

live a bohemian life

and are extremely beautiful

you were everything he liked in a person

so easy to say he fell in hard and deep for you

and he had no plans of letting you go

alright here we go

he did propose after kurts unfortunate death

he had always loved you but thats when he really realized just how much he was in love with you

he wanted to plan something special 

and girl it was a struggle for him let me tell you

he didn’t know if he wanted to do something big or small 

in public or by yourselves 

cliche or original 

he had too many options 

he went looking for a ring and started planning while on tour to make sure you wouldn’t suspect or notice a thing

when you would visit on tour and he had the ring he was debating on doing it then

but he decided not to as to him that wouldn’t be special enough

he had finally picked a day and made plans 

he brought you to a city park because he was bored and wanted to walk around 

the whole car ride there you two were just jamming out and dancing to songs

you didn’t suspect a thing 

but oh lord

he was nervous 

not because he thought you would say no or something

its just the thought of “im proposing today” 

that scared the shit out of him

the sun was already setting by the time you got there 

he was acting like a real gentleman 

when you got there he told you to stay in the car 

he practically jumped out and bolted to your door

opening it with his hand out and adding a classic “m’lady”

you guys were walking the sidewalks around the river in the park 

dave was cracking jokes and messing around with you 

that lasted for a solid 10 minutes before a beach house started to appear in front of you guys 

at this point dave knew each step you two took the closer it was getting for him to ask

he grabbed your hand and pulled you up the stairs into the building 

when you walked in you were surrounded by lights dangling on the walls and a skylight ceiling 

it was very very pretty

you were confused 

you had just gone for a walk and now you’re there 

dave had a grin on his face and pulled you onto the couch that was in the middle of the living room

dave could read the confusion on your face

he pulled out a guitar and was like “I wanted to surprise you so”

without saying another word or allowing you to say anything he started playing a song 

he started to sing “Tonight i’m tangled in my blanket of clouds dreaming aloud things just won’t do without you”

emotions took over and you started to tear up

dave was staring into your eyes 

every word he sang just hit deeper and deeper into your heart

he smiled and stopped singing 

got on one knee and said “will you marry me”

you said yes obvi

dave kissed you then when he pulled away he screamed

“alright boys she said yes” and outcomes all of yours and his friends

marrying him was different 

months of planning 

he kind of let you take control

it was both of your guys big day 

but if you were happy then so was he 

during the months of planning the wedding he made it known you two were engaged 

always like “hey guys look at my fiance”

“yes yes my “FIANCE”“

“have you seen how sexy my fiance looks”

not just that but the ring 

constantly like “hey babe show em the ring”

“look at that beaut”

finally the day of the wedding 

dave was just a smiling gushy mess

when he saw you walk down the aisle 

that was it

it was over 

he was just like shit how the hell does someone get that good looking 

when the officiant said you may now the kiss bride 

dude swept you off your feet

turned around and let big “woo” out 

throughout the whole night when ever somebody complimented you dave would say thank you 

like 

“y/n you look so beautiful”

and theres dave who wasnt even listening to the conversation you were having 

just goes “oh my god thank you so much”

you and dave spent the whole night dancing and goofing off 

just having fun

the night was everything you dreamed of 

bitch

ok so meeting him at like a concert okkk

you came with a friend who was friends with laynes friends

make sense?

talking to said group of friends when layne spots you

he was taken aback 

he thought you were breathtaking 

layne would come up to the group and join in on the conversation 

he would talk and look at you with a youthful type of smile on his face

also kept making jokes and looking at you to see if you would laugh 

at some point during the night you guys ended up alone and began talking 

it was instant connection 

after that layne would constantly be asking to see you 

and bc he is in a band and is famous he has a busy schedule 

but he would cancel things and/or make time to come as see you

alright now dating 

laynes a very laid back type of guy 

so when it comes to dates its usually something pretty easy going 

fast food, ice cream shops, movies

honestly the bougiest it will get is a restaurant 

him wanting you with him all the time 

not in a clingy way but he just really enjoys you being by him, its make him happy

making him see a side of himself he hasnt seen before

the romantic side

but it’s true a lot of the time he writes about dark things that is happening in his life

but when you came around he started writing softer songs about you

about how much he loves and needs you 

speaking of that 

as you may know layne has his own battles and demons 

and because of that he can get depressed and become isolated from the world

he really needs you in those moments 

hes really vunerable and sad

its like a little kid getting picked on by adults 

he isnt innocent but when his own inner demons are hurting him he doesnt know what to do and then becomes easily vulnerable and unsure of himself 

so he needs you to give him some sort of direction and comfort 

okkk so theres that moving on

affection

he isnt the most affectionate 

but he likes to hold your hand a lot

and whenever you're sitting down your legs immediately becomes a pillow 

a proud boyfriend 

he is extremely proud of every accomplishment you have

literally 

you can tell him about a accomplishment you had back in middle school

and when you meet his parents it’s like “Oh did I tell you back in middle school Y/N got a award for...”

like shit that doesnt matter 

but you still did it and hes proud

AWKWARD 

lets be real layne is pretty fucking awkward 

meeting your friends he’ll be awkward 

meeting your family he’ll be awkward 

introducing you to his friends and family he’ll be awkward 

he can’t help it 

he really tries not to be awkward but that makes him even more awkward 

him holding everything that you’ve ever given him at sentimental value 

he isn’t like that with everyone and everything its just because it came from you 

it reminds him that you think of him when you two arent together

and that you care enough to get him those things even though you don’t have to 

he can get pretty protective of you

if he hears anyone talk bad about you or insults you 

he’s gonna put them in their place

he hates to hear anything negative about you

romance

and sometimes that pays off 

other times it comes off cheesy and leaves you there like

some were really cute 

others were very strange

he never wants to lose you
