“Follow” becomes the K-pop crossover band’s fifth Top 5 single on World Digital Songs.

Even as Monsta X navigated some bumps during their new album release, the K-pop crossover band still see their latest bow on multiple charts this week.

The boy band’s new EP titled Follow-Find You debuts at No. 10 on Billboard’s World Albums chart, selling 1,000 copies in the week ending Oct. 31, according to Nielsen Music. This is Monsta X’s ninth entry to hit the Top 10 on the chart, though it does tie 2017’s Shine Forever as their lowest position on the tally to date; all seven of their other entries have bowed at No. 7 or higher. Monsta X has peaked at No. 1 on the chart once so far when The Clan, Pt. 2.5 [Beautiful] topped the tally in April of 2017.

Monsta X also net their seventh entry on Heatseekers Albums as Follow-Find You bows at No. 15 on the chart. To date, the group has earned seven entries on the chart that sees far fewer K-pop albums able to enter, including four Top 10s. MX peaked with Take.1: Are You There? from last year when it hit No. 6.

The guys see their new single debut at No. 5 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart this week as “Follow” sold 1,000 copies in the week ending Oct. 31. This is MX’s fifth song to hit the Top 5 of World Digital Song Sales. Another track off the EP “Find You,” which introduced the EP initially ahead of its release, also lands at No. 21 bringing the group’s total number of chart hits on World Digital Song Sales to 15.

While Monsta X’s most recent releases from the past year like Take.1: Are You There? and Take.2 We Are Here saw the group embracing a darker and more metal side, Follow-Find You sees the band returning to a lighter and fun sound. Introducing the EP with the serene, synth ballad in “Find You” was a major sonic switch-up for the boy band known for their hard-hitting sound and tough image, and made the release of a dynamic single like “Follow,” that recalls Monsta X’s first breakout hit “Hero” from 2015, all the more exciting.

Those two energies are represented throughout the EP as the guys serve their signature edge throughout tracks like “Monsta Truck” (with a blend of smooth groove and industrial breakdowns) and “Disaster” (a bare-bone boom-bap production allows rappers Joohoney and I.M’s aggressive delivery to shine) as more quieter moments are found on songs like acoustic-leaning R&B cut “U R” and in the warm, brassy production of “Mirror” (crafted by member Wonho who departed the group just days after Follow-Find You was released).

This is Wonho.

First, I would like to apologize for not being able to keep the promise that I would only provide good memories and for causing pain to fans.

Furthermore, I apologize for causing concern to many people due to my personal issues.

I have received undeserving blessings and love while promoting as a MONSTA X member. I sincerely thank you for making precious memories for me. To the members who worked hard with me and stayed with me, I would like to tell them that I’m thankful and that I love them. [I would also like to show them] my apologetic heart.

There was a time when I was immature and have made big and small mistakes, but after becoming a trainee and making my debut, I stayed on track and worked hard to avoid being ashamed of myself.

I am announcing that I am leaving MONSTA X today.

I am apologetic for causing harm to the members due to the unfortunate issues related to me. More than anything, I am sorry for disappointing my fans, who believed in me.

I have reached this decision after seeing may people having a hard time because of me.

In addition to our members, I once again sincerely bow my head in apology to the fans who have believed in me and supported me.

Please give strength to MONSTA X. The members have nothing to do with me. I carefully ask that you at least give support and encouragement to the members. They are people who are too good to stop and get hurt like this because of someone like me. I am so thankful and apologetic to the staff, members, and lastly our fans who have allowed me to enjoy such happiness until this point.

I know I don’t post a lot about drama going on in any of the fandoms I am in but the incessant bullying of Wonho from MX as of late has really gotten to me and a lot of my friends.

Everything that has happened this month in kpop has made me worry so much about my sweet Pisces boy.

Lee Hoseok is a talented dancer and vocalist and when I saw him in Atlanta, he hurt his shoulder and was in tears apologizing to monbebes for not doing better.

He internalizes everything and takes things to heart and all he wants is to be a light for monbebes and the way that this one person and allkpop is posting unfounded rumors and awful things about him is disgusting.

It literally makes me sick to my stomach that someone would say such awful things and make unfounded claims about the man who did 6 vlives in a week, each over an hour long, to make sure his fans knew he was there for them, who posts the absolute sweetest things on fancafe, who takes intimate and personal boyfriend pics for us and makes us laugh with pranks and his silliness. 

This is a boy who had a tough past, who came from a family who gave up everything to get him his dream and he’s always so grateful and sweet. He is probably devastated by all of this and I just want everyone to know even if you don’t stan how amazing he is. 

I urge all of you not to believe tabloid rumors, this sweet man fought his way through No Mercy to be a part of Monsta X and have his dream and he gave up all his bad habits to be totally straight edge and a good role model for his fans.

This sounds silly, but I get vibes from people, especially in person, and being at barricade in Los Angles his smile was just so warm and sweet and he gives off the absolute best energy, positive and loving.

Lee Hoseok deserves the whole world, and I want to say on behalf of all real Monbebes, we love you, baby. I hope that Starship pursues legal action against this awful woman and allkpop for spreading these rumors.

I hope to see you keep smiling and I know you’re being the strong, sweet man you always are.
