hello fellow doll friends I have some wonderings about dolls
(not Monster High though, so you guys just sit back for a minute. Miss you Love you!)
Ok so Blythe doll people- I have come across some fakeys on Ali express and fell in love with one. The second after I ordered her I decided she needed a friend and added another to my cart.
Now I have two in the shop and a chubby doll body and clothes and boots and socks in there as well.
Now: What I was wondering- since they are basically "chibi" (three heads high?) What body would one use to make one ... where the head looked more normal? Like maybe five heads high. Would that just be like a Wellie Wisher or something?
But she's not articulated... what size would I look for? (I keep going down the rabbit hole of bjd bodies at 3am when I can't sleep and am trying to do cm-inch in my head and also half asleep).
Also I was NOT prepared for the size of the noggins on these gals.
Not helpful, but I also struggle with re-bodying dolls in general because often the size looks like they would look good together but then the aesthetics don't really match (or vice versa).
edit: Are the fakie blythe heads bigger or smaller than those poopsie dolls? If they're smaller, that might look nice?
There's a history of putting Pullip heads on non-resin versions of 60cm doll bodies. This works because a Pullip head is pretty much the same size as a lot of 60cm BJD heads. Unfortunately, the practice is so historical that I can't find any examples, not even looking through photos by friends who I know have done it.
Blythe's head is bigger than Pullip's, but a 60cm body could still work, especially since you're used to MH proportions
One of the 24" Rainbow High bodies could balance things out by being wider than a BJD-type body, too, in theory.
Ill look into 60cm ones, too!! Thanks so much ^_^. My math wasnt mathing.
